    Paletta

Am the only one who thought he was an absolute liability from start to finish ?

Could've quite easily been sent off in the first half, looked very clumsy and flat footed and Agger had to cover him on numerous occasions, bailing him out of trouble.

Ok, he's only 20, but even so, the opposition tonight was second rate at best, and he still looked very, very dodgy.

      You were the only one.

He's aggresive as hell this lad. IMO we need more of that in the squad.

He's still got a lot to learn but I like him. Reminds me of Carra.

Fair play Charlie, must have seen the same a bit differently then.

Most of the lads on SCM pulled me up for saying it as well.

That bodycheck though ? Just a tad clumsy.

            Rash.

            But he'll learn.

For £2m quid he looks a great bit of business.

Agger really is a gem though.

Up and down for me tonight.

Solid enough - but prone to the occasional error.

Having said that - he's come to a new continent - very young and is still learning. Dunno if he'll ever make first choice - but I'm still happy with him at the moment.

Yeah, Agger was superb tonight, still looks a bit skinny though, could do with hitting the gym.

I thought he played well and apart fro that moments of madness in the first half he never put a foot wrong IMHO.

                      Paletta was decent enough tonight.

The bodycheck was just a tidy bit of South American defending

See your point, but you've gone too far. Not every young defender can come in and look at home straight away a la Agger (what a beast he is btw), I agree Paletta looks a bit like a young JC. He loves putting himself about but is a bit rash, made a couple of great challenges though and I thought he looked promising. He certainly doesn't need to put much time in down the gym either - I can see him being a good 'enforcer' type alongside Agger's more subtle and classy style in the future

That's what I thought. The ref just didn't understand that it was a cultural thing.

I dont think so mate. From what i have seen so far, i have seen nothing to suggest he isnt built enough, havnt seen him bullied yet, if anything he could loose some mobility going to the gym. I like him just as he is.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
