I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry just rewound it and listened to it properly and Rafa's agent says he management style would suite the Italian league, so something over nothing. Also it was from the s*n so don't know the whole story.

was on skysports news this morning when they was doing a summary of all the backpages from the tabloids.

            Rafa agent makes Italy claim
By Mark Buckingham - Created on 9 Nov 2006

Rafa Benitez's agent has claimed the Liverpool manager would consider a coaching job in Italy.

The Spaniard is widely regarded as one of the game's best tacticians and won the UEFA Champions League in his first season at Anfield.

Last term, he took The Reds to FA Cup success, although he has yet to launch a sustained bid for the Premiership title.

He has regularly stated he wants to stay on Merseyside, having been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Internazionale in the past.

But now his representative Manuel Garcia Quilon has claimed Benitez would give serious thought to a post in Serie A.

"Benitez is a coach who is ideally suited to Italy and the country's style of football," Quilon told The Sun.

"He is one of the three best coaches in the world.

"If he gets an interesting offer from a club with a serious project, he will certainly consider it.

"Yes, in this case, he could even leave Liverpool.

"Benitez is a coach who prepares to a high degree. He works 24 hours a day and is able to prepare in a way few others in the world can.

"Just look at what he has won. He led Valencia to the title and Uefa Cup. Then, at Liverpool, he has won the Champions League, European Super Cup and FA Cup."

Must say I didn't enjoy reading that, especially as it has come from Rafa's agent, maybe it's just a warning to the board, who knows, but in fairness to the board, I think they have backed him so far, despite us not landing a couple of players, we were being priced out of it, simple as that. I hope its not a case of Rafa thinking he is fighting a loosing battle with the likes of the chavs and their bottomless pit, and fierce competition from Arsenal and Man U putting him off.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I'm slightly surprised that the club have felt the need to actually comment on the story...

Liverpool have played down reports linking their manager Rafael Benitez with a move away from Anfield.
Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon was quoted in The Sun as saying the Spaniard "will certainly consider" an offer from a club in Italy.

Quilon added: "Benitez is a coach ideally suited to Italy. In this case, he could even leave Liverpool."

But a Liverpool spokeswoman told BBC Sport: "The manager has made it clear that he is very happy at the club."

Benitez signed a new contract at Anfield in the summer, which ties him to the Premiership giants until 2010.

The 46-year-old joined Liverpool from Valencia in 2004 and has since won the Champions League and the FA Cup.

How true are these quotes though?

Is this another case that the tabloids have failed to destabalise LFC through their persistent targetting of Gerrard and are now turning their attention to Rafa instead?

Tbh, as said above, the only team I could see Rafa leaving us for is Real Madrid and with Capello going there this summer, I can't see him leaving us for them for the next couple of years. If/when Capello leaves, Rafa may go, but I hope I'm wrong.

This is not the first time his agent has stirred things up.
ITs times like this I wish we had investment sorted so we knew where we stood. Not going to hold my breath on that one though.

When it comes to investment it's best not to hold your breath Bazza. I have ZERO confidence of anything meaningful being sorted out anytime soon.

But I wouldn't work yourself up over these alleged comments by Rafa's agent. Rafa isn't going anywhere, not yet anyway.

This report is worrying because its come from Rafa's agent. Presumably Rafa was aware of what his agent was going to say, if not Rafa would surely fire him or at least make a statement that his agent had got the wrong end of the stick.
i'm not saying Rafa will leave but I can't help but think he's not 100% happy with things at LFC right now. Now whats that down to, who knows but something just doesn't feel right at the moment.
