if we are getting another main front striker, then suarez and borini will not be playing as wide wingers in the true, traditional sense, but more like a front three across the box. no doubt they will interchange, and drift wide, similar to the way tea-hairy henry drifted for the arse.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think that type of player has declined in importance in recent years at the top level anyway.Originally posted by baitman View Postif we are getting another main front striker, then suarez and borini will not be playing as wide wingers in the true, traditional sense, but more like a front three across the box. no doubt they will interchange, and drift wide, similar to the way tea-hairy henry drifted for the arse.
I don't understand the obsession with wingers that some people have, adding one to our team certainly didn't help us last season.

the winger out wide, crossing the ball into the box onto the running attacker as in gerrard > carroll > goal, although spectacular when it comes off, will fail most times. this may be good for lower league teams, but will fail against well drilled defensive units. the centre forward will be outnumbered.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostI think that type of player has declined in importance in recent years at the top level anyway.

the idea of playing with more of an inside forward still allows you to get to the byline to cross, but the cross will be mostly to feet, and be shorter and more direct. if there is no pass on then the ball can be passed back to the supporting midfield players.removing all the weak links makes us stronger

Apparently he scored the majority of all his goals between Jan and March. That's what the LFC commentators said in yesterdays game. They thought it was a good thing. I thought it was bad thing. He is still unproven and seems a risky signing.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostSo he scored all his goals in Jan & Feb?My kebab comes with chilli sauce

I wondered the same myself.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostBorini out wide is a baffling decision. So we're bringing in a goal poacher who excels in the box and not much outside of it, doesn't have great pace or an ability to beat players, isn't a very good passer and we're going to play him out wide.
If you gona get the best out of him he has to play in middle and allow him to move left or right as he reads the play.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

He played from the left loads for Roma last season with Osvaldo or Totti in the middle.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostBorini out wide is a baffling decision. Explains why he wasn't always a frequent goal scorer then. Maybe in those months where he scored most his goals, he was playing more centrally? My kebab comes with chilli sauce

Yes, but if you came on here 2 years ago you'd have been convinced that Lucas was about as useful as a one armed leper and did nothing but give the ball away and foul people.Originally posted by saj View PostOh ****
