Bloody Virgin West Coast. No wonder they've lost the franchise.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I've not read any indications anywhere that we are trying though. It appears we are happy to keep him on as a squad player.

There's no way Aquilani cost us £50 million. Maddock is just making **** up, as usual

£20m transfer fee + 5 year contract @ £90k per week, can't be far off.

Don't think it was a flat £20m though. That fee was made up of add ons like CL qualification, trophies won etc IIRC

Looking back - and however the fee was structured - it was reported at the time as being funded by sales:

Aquilani is unlikely to mark the end of Benitez’s spending. Coupled with the arrival of Glen Johnson, the England international right-back for £17.5 million from Portsmouth earlier this summer, Benitez has now spent the £38 million raised through the sales of Alonso, Alvaro Arbeloa, Jack Hobbs and Sebastian Leto.

It was 20 million Euro's, not Pounds

                    €20m is approx £15.6m

Ah god oul Aquilani one of the worst signings in the history of LFC, or any club for that matter.

                      Truly embarrassing stuff.

the game needs a financial model for competitive teams and financial stability-- all of the major leagues should band together and the players should form a real union and they should set up a structure that makes the game sustainable.

Back in the day pound was 1.1-1.12 euros. Now it's about 1.25

Signed for £17m in 2009 and was here for 3 years so based on this he was on nearly 230k a week.

When he was on loan some of his wages would have been paid anyway.

We all know it was a disaster of a deal but that has got to be OTT.

I like what Rodgers is saying here. I just don't believe in him yet.
