Abso-****ing-lutelyOriginally posted by Baracus View PostI have made no opinion on Roggy when we signed as manager. I have no opinion on the players he has signed. But I do have one on the players who have been here for a while. Shocking that they have served up this repeatedly.
It's always the new boys fault.
For me the players who have been here some time have been treading water ever since we came so close with Rafa.
From that season to today, those players have looked like they don't believe.

Well, the owners wanted a gamble now they've got it. As Shaggy said, Rodgers is a rookie at this level and the pressure is tremendous, more so now that he's lost 3-0 on the first day of the season.Originally posted by doogle View Postwe should of played better today though against a WBA side who are also in transition with a new manager and have had as many managers in the last 3 years as us
We've had an overhaul on the coaching side and not much so on the playing side of things. It's a cost effective solution which I'm sure will bring some dividends in a few years time but we need to get used to playing for 4th now (if not scrapping for Europa league places or further down). Are we winning?

Looking at peoples reactions, Brenda doesn't stand a chance. He has had no where near enough time with the players to have any real effect yet. It's either a long term vision which means discounting early results or more chop and change in a few months time. One thing I will throw in, does the managers handling of Carroll and agger effect team moral in anyway?Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

The 3 man midfield that Rogers is playing will see us struggle to stay in the top 8. Allen, Lucas and downing as a unit misfire on so many levels. Lucas is not able to play to his strength as there are going to be too many gaps for him to chase down, Allen... Jury is out for me, and downing is ****e.
No way will we get 4th, not a chance.

Freak result. To be fair we were good first half but poor finishing and a goal that you can't defend against had us one down. Thought we'd get back into it to be honest, but once we went a man down it was over.
Cole needs to be binned.
Kelly is not good enough. I think the central defenders spend their time covering for him.
Skrtel had a mare, poorest game in a while.
Gerrard was a disgrace - swanning about the pitch not getting involved. He might be done.
Lucas was obviously not fully fit.
Downing - started well, finished ****. Too inconsistent.
Borini seemed overawed.
Suarez was brilliant, apart from the fact that he missed three sitters.
Fear for us next week in defence. Carra against City's fast moving attack. Ouch. It's going to be a long season.

Exactly what we didn't want to happen, lose the game, get outplayed, play dire, get a key player sent off failed to score goals.
I think that the wide forward areas are seriously lacking in quality, I was disappointed with both Downing and Borini, unless they seriously step up their game this is going to be a huge problem!
I think that Rodgers showed his niavity today, once we went down to 10 men we played far too openly and you are always going to get stuffed if you play like that while a man down. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
