I agree about Reina though, that's a positive. Assuming he stays.
I thought you'd be enthusiastic about it Neil you're generally one of the more positive posters on here.
I know it was only Hearts but we showed plenty of heart.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I wasn't impressed. Then again I wasn't watching all that closely.
But it doesn't matter - it was mainly a second team, it's the UEFA cup and anyway we won.
So yeah, thinking about it:

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Meant realistic rather than positive sorry.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostAm I?

Exactly, it was mainly a second string team so it was a good win for them in what was a difficult atmosphere. It was a hard game Hearts played well but our youngsters were good.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. Allen has been the complete opposite effort wise. He is always looking for te ball and to get things moving at pace. Really encouraged with what I have seen in his short time here so far.
henderson is invisible, i cannot believe the people who see him as actually adding to the team it was a poor performance all round, but hendo...
every time he received a pass he would pass back or sideways, then run on, trying to look like he was being positive and making an attacking move. in reality he was just running away from the ball and the play. he is a dodger, and he comes not to play
jay... no more, thanks.
sterling looked keen, one of the few.
borini looked a little out of it. he didnt seem to come back to midfield too much when we were losing possession.
shelvey was making himself available, but he was on his own, his touch was poor.
adam actually looked like he came to play. made a few little runs, made a couple of tackles, touch was a little poor so his poor control allowed the opposition to pinch the ball a few times.
carra looked a little flustered at times, but so much seemed to get passed back through him, with very little support. it was like him and agger were playing as a back two, with kelley and robinson more advanced, so there was less option to take more time on the ball.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

No need to apologise. I quite like being called positive, even if you didn't mean it.Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostMeant realistic rather than positive sorry.

You're probably right, I was being unnecessarily gloomy. A hangover from Saturday perhaps - although we were pretty terrible in the first twenty minutes tonight..

Very average performance, thought Sterling was fantastic and the only player that was actually trying to make things happen. Kelly was very good too, guy gets better and better with match fitness.
Borini hasn't been great thus far but sure early doors, Adam and Spearing is a truly scary partnership. Shelvery was poor tonight & Henderson apart from one nice chip pass done his usual dissapearing act, guy is a passenger.
Win is a win even though we were poor, well done Sterling attacking more times in one game than Downing did in the entire last season

That is because he barely got involved in the game for the most part and didn't offer anything defensively.Originally posted by destinydude View PostHad a nice lobbed assist which could have been a goal.
Didn't give the ball away cheaply. (Adam, Spearing and Shelvey were terrible today at this)
Spread the ball well whenever he moved in centrally.
He did okay overall. Nothing amazing but nothing bad either

I thought it was a terrible performance. It was the exact opposite of a Brendan Rodgers type of game. Little pressing and we were really inept at passing. It shows the lack of quality in the squad.
A superb ball into the box by Kelly nevertheless and I'm glad Robinson and Sterling got game time. Shelvey's going to be a good player for us. A lot of things didn't come off for him, but he kept plugging away and trying new things which will only aid his development.
Relieved we got the win and it should be more relaxed next week.

pepe - nothing to do for 89 mins then when called into action made a beast of a save - 8/10
kelly - dont trust him. beaten too many times last night but got well forward for the assist - 6/10
carra - solid if unspectacular and too many times he took safety first option to clear - 6.5/10
agger - tried to get us going 99% of the time from deep. again solid if unspectacular in a relatively untried back 4 - 7/10
robinson - started well enough but IMO tired towards his substitution. young and will improve - 6/10
adam - bossed our tempo and had a few charges into shooting range, impressed last night till picked up a knock - 7/10
hendo - MIA. dont remember touching the ball more than twice. all running and no composure. i see no confidence in him at all and want a loan deal to try and recover that for him - 4/10
spearing - dead man walking. caught out of position to many times last night. eager to shine but prob put too much pressure on himself - 4.5/10
shelvey - couldnt really influence the game. few nice touches but looked for adam to dictate too much even when we could see adam struggle with a knock late on - 6/10
sterling - standout first half and flashes in the second. had to go alone most of the time due to no real support but defo signs of real promise - 8/10
borini - typical lfc player IMO . . . . clean through and hits woodwork. had a couple of good runs where he timed it well yet got called wrongly offside. could have been on another night - 6.5/10
allen - came on did well. nothing more to say
downing - like the idea of downing at left back although i know we probably wont see again. did okay IMO
morgan - good 1 minute worth of runningPeople who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.
