Allen has put in a composed, rounded and effective performance so far.

Pleased to see Sterling offering threat. Certainly not out of his depth and could have had an assist.

Deserve lead but need to be careful. Intrigued to see if/how approach changes for 2nd half. Maybe a lower tempo more patient style?

Lots of positives.

Allen quietly going about his work and makes everything look so easy, Sterling, looking every-inch read for the Premiership and Borini's movement.

Gerrard looks to be pulling the strings, Shelvey is keeping things ticking over nicely and that was pure desire from Skrtel to get his head to that ball.

As I already mentioned, Suarez needs to do more when playing centrally and that starts with retaining possession and I hope it's nothing serious for Lucas. Borini when he doesn't have the ball - whilst tenacious - is redundant and he will rely heavily on the delivery from the full-backs and wingers (now Downing is out).

I really enjoyed that.

After a slow start where the passing just didn't seem to click, we've become surprisingly direct haven't we. Tearing into city without fear.

And Joe Allen, he's a proper Liverpool player, isn't he? 100% pass completion.

Borini is still young and settling into the side, he reminds me currently of a young Dirk but I think he has a lot of potential to tap into still
