Off to watch the match at the pub tonight to watch us knob the Gooners.
Your at trinity beach aren't you? Pub on top of the hill?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

        It's a great word.

Good in a confrontation too. Much better than mate. You can spit out the 'p' (not pee, before some wag suggests it ).

        "Watch it, pal."

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

You need a life outside of the internet.

So do I, obviously, I'm just saying. Do as I say, not as I do, etc.

My friends from Sheffield never stop saying 'pal'. It's like fullstop to them.

Now I use it to my kids. Ironically of course. But they now use it back at me double-ironically, which basically means they know I'm using it ironically, but, ironically, by taking the mickey out of my use of irony, they are being ironic while simultaneously de-ironicising my irony.

              And that's the truth.
              Just laughed at the 'delivery'.

Speaking of which, 14 mile ride this morning! Probably not much for a pro like you, but it's a ****ing marathon for me. Probably not really for this thread either.

14 miles is fine. On or off?

I can't ride my bike at the mo. It's frustrating. I have to sit around the house all the time, posting crap on the internet. It's to no-one's benefit.

That's is. After 15 years+ in Sheffield I haven't caught the lingo. In my office we have meetings at e.g '10 while 11'.
