Very impressive indeed, but I am struggling to corroborate what Wiki has. According to soccerway.com, he has played 16 times for the U17 team since October 2010, scoring 17 times, and 3 times for the U19s, scoring 4 times (see table under spoiler).

Still a pretty impressive record regardless and it represents 36% of all of the goals scored in each of those games. In those 20 games, there have only been 4 games he has not scored in. Question is, just how much of a step up is it from that level to the PL?

A mahoosive step, without a doubt.

Some players step up to the plate though, and I think Yesil (I can't stop saying that in my mind using Borat's voice) stands a better chance than many due to the environment he's in (Rodgers, supporters, another 'building' season), and the fact that he seems to have a swagger about his play.

This guy once settled and playing regularly will rock the Kazbar, I rate him higher than Borini.

No doubt that its a big step up but we'll never know what he can do until he's given the chance.

Agreed. I am very much of the belief that if they're good enough then they're old enough. Think of how players like Fowler and Owen burst onto the scene. I am not saying I expect that kind of impact, but you just never know until the chance is given...

He is a very young lad and just coz his record at national level with his peers have been impressive it doesn't mean that he is ready for the starting role.

Having some experience at the senior level like in Capital One Cup or FA and/or some valuable minutes in PL would do him a lot of good but I wouldn't play him much more than that this year.

We have to be careful but the manager seems to be brilliant with the young lads so I'm comfortable that he'll be given chances unlike when the dinosaur was in charge. IBWT

                              Bit messy, but nice improvisation.

                                Thanks Mo... I mean Kenneth.

                                Very smart finish considering.
