Four arrested inside Anfield on suspicion of murder

Four football fans arrested on suspicion of murder inside Anfield during Liverpool's clash with Arsenal

The victim and all four arrested were all from London so I'm not sure if they were Arsenal or Liverpool fans but it's shocking news no matter who they supported.

Although the incident was in the early hours of Sunday morning (Saturday night) the link to LFC is that they were actually arrested inside Anfield at the match yesterday.

    RIP Stuart Smith.

Sad news. Great that they have got the suspects.

I don't like the mirrors slant on reporting. Picture of Anfield and a picture from the game

Some of the posts below that article are unbelievable.

I didn't read this as a negative article about LFC at all. Surely murderers support any number of teams. It also says the four men are from London.

Terribly tragic what happened to the guy who was killed, I think that is a far bigger issue than any alleged journalistic link to LFC.

RIP Stuart Smith, whoever you supported.

        Jesus, is this true?

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I don't see any slant at all.

I'm no fan of the Mirror but it's no different to how their sister paper the Echo have reported it to be fair:

            Four held...

The Echo has now updated it's article to agree with the Mirror that they WERE arrested within Anfield:

They should have arrested some of our players while they were there.

Wasn't Gerrard best game tho...did he play against hearts, and if so maybe he isn't up to two games a week anymore?

                            we're in the wrong thread.

I didn't see the arsenal or hearts game so can't comment, just seems we're always looking to blame one of the players each year for our demise. I did myself with dirk.

Oh and for the record I don't think Carra or Gerrard where involved in the murder.
