Personally, I have defended the guy countless times but I am starting to supect he is not the right man for that job. He is the right man for Liverpool, just perhaps not the MD role. I have given him the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions but issues are just mounting up.

FSG you can forgive to some extend, but whats his excuse. The ammount of chopping and changing that has gone on at the club is just bloody appalling. Even with support, financial support, bad decisions keep getting made, worse still our relationships within the world of football seem extremely stretched.

Theres no denying he is running a well oiled machine on the commercial side, but you have to wonder the ammount of major directional changes, the disconnect between what our Managers are saying and what our Club is doing. I can help but feel he has thrown Brendan under the bus somewhat in this latest in a long line of **** ups.

For him to put a young manager under that much pressure in his first season, after he had slashed the wage bill, got rid of a whole host of first team old players and essentially left our manager with Egg on his face, is unforgivable in my books.

I would not be against a sideways move for Ian. Normally I would not jump on peoples backs for mistakes but he needs to buck his ideas up quick smart or I get the impression he will feel the full force of the disgruntled LFC faithful very very soon. The lasting impression of Ian right now is, he throws our managers consistently under various moving buses

It doesn't look to good looking at what has happened recently but we are not aware of all the facts.

Judging by Fenway's track record of getting rid of people who don't perform there seems to be something going on that we don't know of or he would be gone now if he was as incompetent as it appears.

Maybe he is operating under strict guidelines and restraints after so much was wasted last season, only Henry will know the answer to this. The only major problem may be a communication issue with BR and ensuring everybody manages expectations better, something easily rectified.

We shouldn't really be prepared to dump him until all the facts are known.

The problem is we don't really know what his position involves exactly. My impression is that he is alright on the commercial side, but I don't think that he knows enough about negotiating deals on the football side. I certainly don't think he is the person to provide direction on the football side of things.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think if he goes now it won't reflect well on the owners so they'll sit tight. Not sure why he was moved from the commercial side of things to overseeing transfers.

Up until the last day I was well happy with the transfer window. I don't know if we just tried to mug Fulham for Dempsey because of his stand or we genuinely only had 3m to spend. If it is the latter we can't blame Ayre if it was the former he showed extreme naivety by expecting Fulham to crumble.

The Sturrage issue is simpler, we wanted a loan deal, he only wanted a permanent move, something we couldn't afford.

                    Someone's hacked into MrNice's account.

I agree with the post. He's been a real asset in terms of commercial opportunities, but there is something about him that's managed to annoy other club chairmen and prove costly for us on occasions. Also, Huddersfield fans really dislike the man. One of their forums had someone saying he'd sell the Shankly gates if he could. Now you see, that kind of aggressive marketing (not that extreme) is needed in the commercial areas. His (and FSG's) leadership was really needed during the Suarez case, and that went missing.

We didn't really need Billy Hogan. We could've moved Ayre back there and reopened our search for a Chief Executive Officer. There were a number of reports when FSG first searched for an MD that they had their man, but he couldn't leave his job for whatever reason. That led to the appointment of Ayre. How true that all was, I don't know.

So you've crossed over to the dark side. Speculation and gossip for the win!

I know, let's all ignore the latest article by Barrett, which says he wasn't to blame for Fridays fiasco. Which also says that ayre and Rodgers have a strong working relationship.

I wonder how many posts there would be right on that article right now if it had said ayre was to blame?

None of you have a clue how ayre is performing on a day to day basis. Not a ****ing clue. But hey, don't let that stop you. Scape goats are great aren't they?

Barrett's article is also speculation. The club and Rodgers appear to be briefing journalists. Don't forget that FSG are kings of spin and Rodgers has an excellent relationship with the press.

The only thing we have to work on is that Rodgers has said he hasn't been misled in any way and that there are a few operational issues which need sorting out.

From the outside looking in, it's not great.
