Rodgers is doing a pre-match press conference now which is live on LFCTV. Instead of sitting in front of the usual LFC backdrop, the background is completely black. Is that in relation to the 96? Or have they cocked it up?

I read today that Liverpool didn't want to be accused of profiting commercially in any way out of Hillsborough so they covered up the sponsor behind and also took the labels off the drinks bottles.

I hope your right. That's the kind of player that I really love to watch. I don't mind when an attacking/ creative style player gives the ball away in the final 3rd cause that's the most difficult place to find space to get ashot away. Possession doesn't win games it's who can unlock packed defences that win. Players like Garcia cop stick but they've got the hardest job

Obviously he doesn't read the game too well then if he is making less challenges than everyone else. Considering Henderson is pretty anonymous in most games he plays for us the least you can expect is him to be chipping in with tackles every 20-30 mins or so. He should be doubling/trebling his current rate as a central midfielder.

I don't think it's 'obvious' at all; just because he makes less challenges than other players doesn't mean he doesn't challenge or even challenge well. If anything, it highlights what we already know: that he doesn't challenge enough.

When he *does* challenge, he does it without going to ground and he does it by 'nicking' the ball, hence why he reads the game well. And yes, he should be challenging more in the centre of the park but perhaps he will when he is played there and not shunted out wide.

His tackle success rate is high, the number of tackles is not

Fitness fight: Jose Enrique has been hit by knee problems at the start of the season

Left-back Jose Enrique's knee injury will be assessed ahead of Saturday's trip to Sunderland.

The Spaniard has been training this week after the recurrence of a problem which has dogged him since the start of the season.

Midfielder Joe Allen has recovered from illness which disrupted his international duty while manager Brendan Rodgers is confident Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates will be fine after international duty having travelled back from South America.

Provisional squad: Reina, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique, Sterling, Gerrard, Sahin, Allen, Suarez, Borini, Jones, Carragher, Kelly, Coates, Shelvey, Henderson, Downing.

Looks like it'll be Johnson and Downing tomorrow then at fullback.

I know we're not in great form and it's only Sunderland, but with the international break out of the way I'm really looking forward to this now. Just hope we can get a result.

Sterling has been great but I'm worried we'll over play him and he's played U19 then with the full England squad so I would leave him as sub.
Shelvey has been our best midfielder along with Allen and did well for the U21's so he should start imo.

Basically saying he's in the 20 man squad and that two will miss out. Doesn't seem like he knows if he will be one of the two. Hope he at least makes it onto the bench.
