    THis -

Cameron says the coroner was wrong to say everyone died at or shortly after 3.15pm.

But today's report shows that that was not true.

Some people could have been saved if they had been treated differently, he suggests

I don't ever want to know if this statement would bring me relief or would make it worse. Those poor people. Its absolutely horrendous what they have had to go through. Words can't convey.

Irvine Patnick's Wiki page has already been edited in the wake of the Report.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Owen Gibson has sent more detail which was covered by Cameron in his statement. He comments on the Coroner's decision not to allow evidence about the disaster after 3.15pm.

Documents disclosed to the Panel also reveal the original pathologists' evidence of a single unvarying pattern of death is unsustainable.

The assumption was the basis of Coroner's imposition of a 3.15pm cut off on evidence to the inquests. It led to the mistaken belief that an effective emergency services' intervention could not have saved lives.

The Panel's disclosure confirms that in some cases death was not immediate and the outcome depended on events after 3.15pm.
The Panel found that close analysis of the documents demonstrated that the weight placed on blood alcohol levels was inappropriate, fuelling "persistent and unsustainable assertions about drunken fan behaviour not supported by evidence of moderate drinking patterns of drinking unremarkable for a leisure event."

Was Irvine Patnick a willing conduit, or was he passing on something he believed to be true?

I'd have thought determining that would be the purpose of a criminal trial.

That was jaw dropping - the openess from DC, and the gasps in the house of Commons together with the sickening revelation of 164 statements amended.

I feel both today as well

Relief at no longer having to defend myself and the other LFC fans who were there that day from ill-informed people who pass judgement on you

However the focus of my anger has shifted, it has been just anger towards the incompetence of the police that day. Now it is anger at the lengths they have gone to cover their backs whilst smearing the people they should have been protecting and saving

Like Cameron said though, don't apologise unless you mean it, and i'm not sure they would tbh.

Lip service, nothing more, if they wanted to apologise they would have by now, properly, starting by condemning those working at the paper at that time.

I'll never ever buy that paper , apology or not.

I'm not sure another front page "apology" from the newspaper is required.

Pointless - it cannot be sincere and there's probably not a single person that works on the paper day to day that worked on it back in 1989.

The Sun issued an apology for their treatment of the Hillsborough disaster "without reservation" in a full page opinion piece on 7 July 2004, saying that it had "committed the most terrible mistake in its history" by publishing it. The Sun was responding to the intense criticism of Wayne Rooney, a Liverpool-born football star who still played in the city (for Everton, now for Manchester United) who had sold his life story to the newspaper. Rooney's actions had incensed Liverpudlians still angry with The Sun. The Sun's apology was somewhat bullish, saying that the "campaign of hate" against Rooney was organised in part by the Liverpool Daily Post & Echo, owned by Trinity Mirror, who also own the Daily Mirror – arch-rivals of The Sun. Thus the apology actually served to anger some Liverpudlians further. The Liverpool Echo itself did not accept the apology, calling it "shabby" and "an attempt, once again, to exploit the Hillsborough dead".
They have said sorry before. But its just hollow words.
