I travelled up from London for the match but was stuck in a huge traffic jam on the M6 when the match started, we all sat on a grass bank listening to it all unfold in disbelief. So sad.

    RIP the 96.
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

"It's taken more than two decades, 400,000 documents and a two-year inquiry to discover to my horror that it would have been far more accurate had I written the headline The Lies rather than The Truth. I published it in good faith and I am sorry that it was so wrong."

it shouldnt have taken more than 5 mins to listen to the fans that were there!!!
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

He is absolutely sick. There arent any words to properly describe how despicable that man is.

To suggest that a journalist of Mckenzie's standing with his sources and contacts didn't have the resources to realise he'd got it wrong is ****ing laughable. Today is nothing more than self preservation by a horrible little man.

He's enough clout and contacts to have known what went down for decades now but his stance and posturing added to his public position. I hope he gets ****ed and burned by everyone who's ever hired the nasty ****.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

More from Kelvin MacKenzie's apology: "I too was totally misled. Twenty three years ago I was handed a piece of copy from a reputable news agency in Sheffield in which a senior police officer and a senior local MP were making serious allegations against fans in the stadium. I had absolutely no reason to believe that these authority figures would lie and deceive over such a disaster."

When Shaggy called him an Evil Cunt, I felt he was being kind.

MacKenzie: "I was not sorry then and I'm not sorry now."

                    Enough said.

Michael Mansfield QC asked whether this is the biggest cover up in British legal history. "The short answer is - yes."

Listening to Andy Jacobs on the radio right now. I'm seeing him in a different light.

He was very condemning of MacKenzie's apology.

I was one of the very lucky ones who were stretchered off early after being resuscitated by two of the SYP junior officers. In fact I'm sure one of them was the fella interviewed on the BBC the other night although I can't be certain of much from that day.

Unfortunately my mate Alan "Mally" Johnston was not so lucky. We were together until we were separated as we entered pen B along with another mate who I later discovered had climbed over into pen C. Mally and I were both missing for hours; I had been taken to the Northern General hospital in a 'Black Maria' (there weren't enough ambulances) but he was found around 11pm among the dead bodies in the gym back at Hillsborough.

Twelve of us left to watch a football match together that day but only eleven of us came back. And for 23 years we've been told it was our fault and we murdered our own fans. I think I'll go home early today and raise a glass for the 96 as I'm in bits here in work.
                              You do that mate
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

South Yorkshire police chief , apologizes to families of the 96 and Liverpool fans in general live on BBC.
"All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"
