just been watching the vigil, have been at work, all day in meetings other than at 12:30 when i walked out to hear camerons statement. Am now sat here with tears in my eyes.
I was due to attend that game (i live in Sussex), on the monday before i got home from work & there was a letter from LFC; i was expecting it to be my ticket, but it wasn't it was my cheque with a letter telling me i had forgotten to sign it.
i called the club the following day & they said they could not guaruntee i would get the ticket if i sent a cheque (signed) in time for the Friday, as i would have to leave very early on the saturday. i have always thought that fate had it that i wasn't due to be there; i just hope the 'lucky' fan that got my ticket, survived that terrible, terrible tragic day.
I remember my mum getting numerous calls from my nans, aunties, sisters, etc that afternoon, frantic with them thinking i was there; so i cannot begin to understand the pain of the family & friends of those that died that day & how they have suffered for the past 23 years.

Fantastic post mate, it goes to show truly how this has a major effect on so many unseen people in ways not thought of. The families have fought so hard for this, I hope they get the justice they seek and need.Originally posted by S-RED View Postjust been watching the vigil, have been at work, all day in meetings other than at 12:30 when i walked out to hear camerons statement. Really emotional day at work for me too, it's not my story to tell but there are a couple of lads I work with that attended the game and lost family members. I was in awe of how they handled themselves today, their strength is unbelievable.Vive la France

I was 7 at the time but still remember sitting down with my dad and watching it unfold on the television.
I also remember the weeks after when my dad and his work mates did some sponsorship schemes to raise money for the families. A week before the cup final him and his mates did a charity van pull from kirkby all the way down to wembley stadium to raise money for the families by stopping off at all the major towns and cities on the way to london to pull the van through them and arrived at wembley on cup final day and pulled the van all the way up the wembley way.
Never been more proud of him and his mates for that.

MacKenzie, Cohen, Patnick, and all those who have and continue to smear, the nation is absorbing the Hillsborough report like sponges. Their time will come.
Right now, we should appreciate the triumph of love, humility, dignity and truth over evil and use that as momentum to push on. The families' strength has been so admirable, it gives me a glimmer of hope for this evil infested planet. They've been a beacon of light admist the darkness, fighting against powers and principalities who have used every trick under the book and ultimately failed against the love parents, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, sons and daughters.
What a day. RIP 96. We're almost there.

Agree. To think he works with the same newspaper as another cnut who has absolute hatred for us defies belief.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostDavid Conn being an absolute hero on LFCTV. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
