I kind of agree with Dom. I'm not so troubled about the coverage it has received though. Fair enough these people could have dug deeper, but just how far can you go when the documents are locked down?

I have also spent the week feeling angry. I have known these things that came out for god knows how many years, and to have newspapers telling me about them like they are new facts is really frustrating.

However, on a positive note, I think it has brought football fans together. I have even had people texting me telling me they were wrong, that they feel ashamed by the views they held. That can only be a good thing.

But, I can never forgot 96 people died. It could have been anyone. But I fear these people are getting lost in the scandal. Rather than remembered. If that makes sense?
    *Except Michael, who died.

This week has been massively significant, but the revelations and apologies cannot completely change other people's views. We always knew that it was a cover-up by the police, but the media version is indelibly imprinted into people's brains. I had a discussion yesterday via facebook with a mate from Stockport and his last message to me was that he still had reservations. Reservations about what? Changing opinion isn't going to happen, people who believed the police then will still have reservations now. The damage is irreversible, the truth doesn't bring people back and it doesn't change opinions.

I love all these ****ing idiots who 'still have reservations'. In another words, they just don't want to admit being wrong for all these years. They must feel very stupid to be fair.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Just let them slope off into a corner and be consumed by their bitterness, denial and hatred. They are now in the minority and their opinions have no credence whatsoever.

I hope you're right, but I suspect that you're not.

Ground-wide applause at the Britannia Stadium as You'll Never Walk Alone is played over the PA system. We'll no doubt see similar scenes across the country today as fans show solidarity with the Liverpool supporters.

I think it will change but yeah, people don't shift overnight. I partly agree with Shaggy that to some extent it's about admitting they were wrong but JumboMan is right too, it's deeper than mere knowledge of facts can go, it's imprinted on how people think about the subject. But it will change for most in time. I hope so anyway.
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Thick and unpleasant. But then we knew that already.
