I've been choking back tears all day, I start to read, watch, listen and just well up. I've seen others say it, this isn't just a football thing, this is a monumental day in British history.

Michael Mansfield is looking his age.......

I just had a look at the S*n and they are carrying the story as a straight news piece, it'll be interesting to see if they allow an opinion or editorial article on it. Feel free to ignore the link below (that's why I borked it) but some might like to see them acknowledge it

It's been quite an emotional day to say the least.

I cant even imaging how the families are feeling right now. Such a mix of emotions.
27 years to get to this, corruption an lies from police, fa, sheffield council, press, government the lot.

The ripple effect across the families and friends of the 96 is hard to imagine. Let's remember not just the 96, but spare a thought for everyone affected by the tragedy.

Can't imagine what it's been like for all the families of those who have lost family members, friends and people that were there. Not just that but the people of the City of Liverpool, massive effects on the City which has wrongly had its reputation tarnished.

David Conn's long piece in the Guardian is extremely powerful.

I was in the pens that day and I guess in away I am lucky as I cannot remember much,I can remember gasping for breath a few time, see that police line across the pitch and also when we got on the pitch going over to the big stand on the left to a mate know we are safe.well today when I heard the verdict I sat in the work van and I cried, like say every 15th April I don't think of myself as a survivor I just think I am lucky I got out.27years to long I have to give a mention to the jury it must have been hard for them to have this dominate there lives for 2 years, for 2 years they have had the pain that the families and fans and this city has had.jft96

never mind trying to pass the blame onto the fans, not only are others culpable [as mentioned in the verdict today] but there also is the question of the conspiracy between the culprits to all bury the truth and try and pass the blame... the match day police, south Yorkshire police force, Sheffield council [ground safety certificate], press, home secretary and government... the list goes on...

for so many corrupt people to be able to get their story straight you have to realise that there is indeed a conspiracy at work here.
i wonder if the masons will be the ones who have helped cover their brothers backs.
i bet papers are being shredded and old video tapes are being burned right now...
there is no doubt that serious negligence has led to the manslaughter of innocents here and people will be found guilty eventually.
for me though, the bigger question is the level of ass covering and conspiracy after the fact that has taken place. this goes right to the head of government at the time.
