With regard to The Sun and The Times I think it's a calculated gamble on their part and one that's likely to pay off. Someone who has no interest in yesterday's inquest going into a newsagent today sees a wall of Hillsborough related headlines will choose The Sun or The Times. That's the mentality of many British people, I think they'll have a bumper day today. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
I have no love for the **** Rag but its a damned if they do, damned if they dont scenario

Either way they would have come in for flak and rightly so for that ****ty "The Truth" headline, no matter what they do the people of Liverpool wont forgive or forget

The Times not having anything on their front page is an own goal though imo

Very, very powerful stuff from BOTH Theresa May and Andy Burnham in the House today.

I was getting quite choked up listening to Andy Burnham. I think his time in politics will come eventually, but he is building a very good name.

He wants further investigation between policing links and transparency of events at Orgreave. He wants further action against the press through the second phase recommended by Leveson.

Both Theresa May and Andy Burnham spoke very emotionally and very passionately about the candour and dignity shown by the families. Hopefully their fight will bring about some real change.

A very good point about Orgreave.
Without devaluing the verdict and grief of Hillsborough its an opportunity to also dig dirt on these corrupt complicit *******s who just thought they could treat others like ****.
        their time will come...

Andy Burnham does come across as very passionate and sensible.

Very powerful speeches in parliament by both Theresa May and in particular Andy Burnham. Burnham has called for Orgrieve to be similarly investigated. Proper order.

im happy that the families who lost people are finally on the road to getting some justice and maybe some closure too.

That was the big win of yesterday.

But they were tarred as scumbags, painted as people who killed their own fans. The police, the government at a few different levels, certain parts of the media that were basically used as a governmental propaganda toolpiece all made out that Liverpool fans, and people from Liverpool in general were scumbags. It is a stigma that has been allowed to stick for a generation. (sidenote - the fact that Everton fans sang the "always the victims" song a week ago at Anfield was a big kick as well to be honest)

So for me, and I suspect for many of the families, there won't be justice until all of those who ****ed up on the day are done for negligence and all of those who were complicit in the cover up are done for perverting the course of justice.

And even now, after a jury sat for over 2 years hearing all of that evidence, and have basically said that the fans played no part and that the police ****ed up, I would still be very surprised if anyone ever served a day in prison over this.

For the South Yorkshire Police to come out with some crappy PR statement about fully accepting the findings was also pretty despicable. 27 years on and after a 2 year inquiry they come out with an acceptance.

The likes of Duckenfield and Bettison who still peddled the notion that fans were at fault after all the pain over all that time should rot in hell. They ****in knew full well. What is espeically gauling is that they are sitting on nice police pensions and would have got expenses for appearing at the enquiry.......the whole thing still makes me angry to be honest.

Can't help but feel, like a lot of the paedo stuff, so much time has passed that a fair few responsible will either be dead or given leniency on compassionate grounds due to their age.

I don't have an issue with that. Everyone should be represented properly in legal proceedings and it is good that the legal process was so robust, it has lead us to completely unambiguous conclusions.

It was an inquest though, if it was a criminal prosecution then fair enough I suppose. I'm no legal expert, but the criminal proceedings will happen and I think that those police officers have already spent their defence money.

£25m though? How hard have the families had to work to get that sort of money for representation over the years?

Just doesnt sit right. Not commenting if it should/should not happen.
