I expect 6th place - anything higher would be a bonus...

I think we'll lack the squad depth to mount a serious challenge for the Europa League and Carling Cup and as such, we'll field weakened team to try and keep the first team strong and fresh to climb the table.
If the draw is kind and we spend in January, I'd argue we'd have a better chance in the FA Cup over the Europa and League cups.

I find it hard to have any clear idea. Early season form has been all over the place for most people. City seem to have enough about them to stay clear of the pack beyond that I find it quite hard to read.
A lot depends on both how well we adopt Rodgers possession based game but equally important will be the shakedown of other teams into different styles IMO. There are more ball on the ground teams than many previous seasons but the counter examples are pretty extreme (Stoke and West Ham being the most obvious). My feeling is that we'll end up between 5th and 7th but a lot better, and a bit worse are genuine possibilities.
For me the most important thing is to end the season in a better place - with a squad that we can build on next season and an established team style."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

No, don't think so. Rafa was sacked by the former owners and Kenny wasn't preferred their appointment, also I think off field troubles and wasted funds counted against Kenny.Originally posted by Nick77 View PostWhat I want to know is, if like Kenny & Rafa, we do happen to finish 7th or lower, does Rodgers get the sack like Kenny & Rafa did?* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

That depends of what type of season we have.Originally posted by Nick77 View PostWhat I want to know is, if like Kenny & Rafa, we do happen to finish 7th or lower, does Rodgers get the sack like Kenny & Rafa did?
Owners lack of ambitions can protect him only so much if he starts losing points at home and away as Kenny did last year.
He is already under the pressure somewhat but I imagine things will only get lot worse if the spell of bad results continue.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I think he’s already completed his main objective, slashing the wage bill drastically. Bar relegation form, I don’t think he’ll be under any pressure from the owners.Originally posted by Mostar View PostThat depends of what type of season we have.
