It depends on what Rodgers plans are for Sunday. If Sahin will be in contention for ManU match then I cannot see him being involved today.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostStarting shelvey and sterling would be a strange decision IMO. And no Sahin either? Surely to god he'll start!
That said, it would be strange to bring Sahin for Press Conference and then not feature him.
I'd really like to see Borini today. This type of game would be good for his confidence.
Not even close.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostNo he's not a DM mate.

But much of that about Morgan is true about Borini, too, and we play him on the wing. They're both poachers with intelligent movement and great work rates; BR sees Borini as a wing (or least a wide forward) so I wouldn't be surprised if the same is true of Morgan.Originally posted by RedReet View PostCompletely disagree. Don't think Morgan has a future on the wing, even as a Championship player. He is a poacher and needs to be in the box. He may not be good enough to hold up the ball, but he isn't necessarily a target man. Only seen small amounts of Yesil. but he appears much, much quicker than Morgan to me.
Edit: That's not to say we might not see Morgan playing on the wing a few times this season.

I didn't say Morgan wasn't a poacher. He is miles away from being ready as a central striker imo, the fact that we've now moved him into a wide right role means that Rodgers and his staff think the same (or in fact that I agree with them)Originally posted by RedReet View PostCompletely disagree. I didn't say target man either, I said central striker.
I would say that Morgan is similar to Sturridge playing from that right hand side but will work harder for the team and be a lot less selfish.
How much do I need to see? I've watched the U21 game vs Chelsea, the Germany vs Eng U19 game and other highlights and bits and pieces.Originally posted by clanhuman View PostHow much have you seen of Yesil to make this assessment?
We shall see, if Liverpool thought Morgan was ready we wouldn't have signed Yesil, we did and played him centrally while moving Morgan wide.
While we're at it, in time N'goo will be far more effective coming from wide than playing through the middle as well.Last edited by The Birdman; 20-09-12, 03:08 PM.The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Morgan played wide right against Chelsea ressies. He had a decent game and also had a shoot on sight policy from that area of the pitchOriginally posted by broman View PostBut much of that about Morgan is true about Borini, too, and we play him on the wing. Morgan is a poacher, he works hard but his movement isn't great at the moment but he is only young and has a lot of potential.Originally posted by broman View PostBut much of that about Morgan is true about Borini, too, and we play him on the wing. Borini on the other hand is the best striker at the club in terms of movement off the ball.
Borini will finish the season as our top scorer as well. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

That's a fair point actually, but I haven't seen enough of Borini's scoring instincts to compare. I know it’s quite common these days for CF’s to be converted into wingers, but I just don’t see it in Morgan and would be surprised if BR thinks he does. It also hasn’t exactly worked out for Borini on the wing so far either, so we’ll have to see how that develops.Originally posted by broman View PostBut much of that about Morgan is true about Borini, too, and we play him on the wing. I agree he's not ready to play a lone striker role, but I still think that's where his future lies as I'm sure he does. My point about a target man is if we don't ask him to play that role, then there is no need for him to excel at holding players off, Defoe at Spurs is doing well in that role at the minute.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostI didn't say Morgan wasn't a poacher. Sturridge's dribbling skills and pace make him a better candidate on the wing for me, the only similarities in play that I see between the two is that they are left footed. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
