I think he has a past record of good play (i.e. for Uruguay at the Copa America) but I really think he needs games to iron out the kinks in his game. Hopefully Europa/League cup will give him that.

Just seems a lot of the analysis has an 'anyone but Carragher' quality to it.

Having seen Carragher this season I don't have a major argument against that

It was a pleasant surprise to see 5 goals scored. I tipped 2-0 to us & I even thought that it may only be 1-0 but who in their right mind would think we'd score 5.

I like Coates. He's in and out of the side and often has a different partner, so with that in mind he's doing very well IMO. Just needs to get a bit nastier. Also it's great to have such a goal threat from set pieces - he reminds me of Sami in that respect.

Thats not a bad achievement considering how young the side is.

I think Reina can make the super saves but for the simple goalkeeping stuff like catching corners and making saves that are basic, I think I'd prefer Jones at the minute.

Coates is surely the 3rd pick CB now. He should start getting more game time to help integrate him with his teammates.

It's difficult Coates & Kelly are both at the stages where they need game time.. but we can't seem to fit them in. Sure we don't even know our strongest side yet, will take time and certain players to bed in & get full match fitness to see that.
