He's definitely played his best football in those positions, I'm not convinced we'll see him in there too much in the future though.

I remember reading an article years ago, where Rafa said he thought that Gerrard would play closer and closer to goal the older he got and tipped him to become a striker in his twilight years, rather than dropping deeper like other players. I'm not convinced his prediction was wrong, I just don't think we'll see it implemented.

I don't think we're compact enough when we have the ball. We leave too much space in midfield when we lose it, it's frightening. Not sure it's how Rodgers have us set out (leave some space between the lines) - think we pressure high up the pitch but it's more like a zonal pressing system rather than all of the time pressing and holding a high line.

Yes, which is why I'm not sure we've signed the best players in that position. Sahin isn't a deep sitting midfielder.

I don't think we were looking at the Lucas position really it was more about getting in players to help us with the tempo and controlling the ball & really not sure who else would have been out there we could have brought in instead especially as it was a loan deal.

I'm with Rafa on this one. Gerrard's ability to play a killer final ball or finish a move would see him thrive further forward. He is nowhere near as gifted at dictating tempo and orchestrating play. I really think he should've been in the front three from the start of the season. Not to say I don't see him working out well as the tip of the three CMs.

I'm bricking it regarding Suarez and Evra. If they don't shake, there's going to be problems. As much as I'd like to think they'll shake, there's a nagging doubt that they won't, and it'll affect the occasion.

the handhakes should be dropped, stupid ritual and it should have no bearing at all on todays match but because of the FA it will.

I think they'll shake hands FWIW but if they don't then the atmosphere could become quite poisonous.

I just look at Luis, and think, he won't truly know if he'll shake Evras hand untill he's stood infront of the man face to face, whatever he intends or has promised to do i think there is still potential for a spur of the moment decision by him.

So untill that moment comes i'll be nervous as hell.
