    our most important players

we all know steve gerrard was our saviour, and carra was our rock, but times they are a-changing...
interesting times, with so many new faces getting a chance to make a place in the first team their own we could see new names joining the list and making their way up the list as time goes by

who are our current most important players, and maybe tell us why...

we might get a little list going...

1, joe allen. holds the ball well, always makes himself available, and never goes missing. not a match winner, though.
2, luis suarez. can be very frustrating, but can offer moments of genius and inventiveness. can squeeze in shots from impossible angles.
3, daniel agger. silky smooth defender. seems to give the other defenders more confidence knowing he is there.
    4...

    your choices and reasons
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Lucas for me should be the first name on the team sheet

I'm hoping we don't have players we rely on that much. Otherwise one injury and were screwed again!

its definitely looking like it will be more of a team ethic, with each player being an interchangeable part of the jigsaw.

its good we now have allen as cover for lucas. the DM position has become so important in covering the centre backs, allowing our full backs to press forward.

elsewhere on the pitch there is decent cover.

Players we would miss most atm:

1: Suarez - Best source of goals
2: Reina - Not his best at present but our only good keeper
3: Allen - Only one of our numerous midfielders who looks good in the anchor role
4: Agger - Makes the defence look so much better
5: Johnson - Lb or RB he's out best full back by a mile and his ability to switch flanks has helped us a great deal
6: Gerrard - Whilst we have players to cover, he is still the captain and the player everyone looks to in a crisis.
                    Forwards.......

1- lucas . . . . . he's become a lynchpin in our midfield and we miss him when hes gone. once he returns he'll allow so much more freedom to an already freedom loving midfield (if you follow me)
2- suarez . . . . . he still should be more prolific but hes our best outlet in attack for scoring
3- agger . . . . . .we look so much more composed with him present and he gives us an extra outlet for attack if the midfield is pinned down
4- allen . . . . . . hope for future and someone who can calm down play and retain posession when needed.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

In a way a plus point of recent weeks has been seeing how we don't have one figure who we fall apart without.

To go against the prevailing wisdom I think Gerrard or Sahin if they can start scoring from midfield will be the key to our progression.

I guess we probably also need one of Allen or Lucas in the said to give us a platform at least at PL level. At the minute though we haven't been collectively good enough as a defensive unit. It's hard to say Lucas is vital to us when it is unknown how well he will recover his form.

its a much better situation than when we were totally reliant on gerrard, carragher and gerrard, gerrard and torres, and latterly gerrard and suarez.

it wont be long before we can move players in and out and it is will be almost seamless.

we need to hope we can add a couple of players to give us the cover for gerrard. we have shelvey, who will become a very good player. we have sahin who is returning to form and who is an excellent player. although he will be an integral part of our team we need to consider where we go if he doesnt stay.
will suso be up to the required level by then... maybe.

                              For me.

                              Suarez
                              Agger
                              Lucas

                              In that order.
