We have a surprising small list of preseason games this summer and a whole batch of new strikers/forwards that need gelling (Origi, Ings, even Ibe, maybe even Benteke down the line). Taking Sinclair would have reduced their game time. At least we're taking pre-season seriously. Which in itself is a nail in his Anfield career coffin.

I think he has reacted badly to not getting picked on the tour but also Ings, Origi + one more (we assume) being signed without him been given a chance.Originally posted by Pablo View PostPissed off he wasn't part of the first team squad and has spat his dummy out and asked to leave?
Another bellend with a terrible attitude then it seems!

true.....
the big problem here is that young players have too much too soon. Long gone are the days where a young player would need to spend the year cleaning the boots of a senior pro just to get a drink at christmas....
Now it's a case of players having up to 10k per week without ever kicking a ball. It is just plain wrong and all it does is remove the motivation for a young player to do well....
The PFA should be linking up with the FA and putting a wage cap on young players.

A guy I know used to do some coaching / physio work at Everton youths during his undergrad. He helped some no-mark back to fitness and in return the young toffee gave him his Rolex as a thank you. 17 year old kids giving away Rolex watchesOriginally posted by frank the tank View Posttrue.....

He'd walk in to Madrid's starting line up, the stats speak for themselves. Don't blame the lad, it'd be hard to turn down the chance of CL football. Best of luck Jerome, thanks for the memoriesOriginally posted by Irishnev View PostAnother one now!

Apparently we offered him Sterling's wage, he thought it meant we were offering the £100k a week Sterling turned down but we were in fact only offering the £35k a week vacated by Sterling. Jerome thought £35k was derisory and said that the club are taking the piss.
Can't blame the lad really, it'd take a couple of months to save up for a Bentley or Ferrari, and he wasn't prepared to slum it in his BMW X6 for 2 months. When are FSG going to learn that if you want to keep the top top players you have to pay top top wages

I don't know what the deal is here, but it seems a very odd situation. I don't see why the club would offer less wages than he is on now, if they are offering a new contract (unless someone hugely cocked up with his last one). He is a player with almost no first team experience so why go public about it?
If it isn't about wages but something else that would make more sense. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
