We're a team in transition and I think it's obvious to all that it's heading in a good direction. Results will come, as will a striker in Jan. Future is still bright imo.
This. Under Kenny sometimes we looked so disjointed and played very half hearted.

The players are at least trying now and the signs are very encouraging but the sooner we fix our defense, the better for us.

Thought we played well but Allen was below par, Borini as a goalscorer worries me I don't think he even had a shot on target.

We will not keep a clean sheet for a long time if we play/defend the way we do. Leave ourselves with hard work in situations that shouldn't even develop.

From our own corners we have looked more likely to concede than score at times this season, massive worry for me. On a bright note though, once that's sorted we'll be in pretty good shape.

What a goal from Suarez! and Shelvey!.

I don't think Lucas missing is the problem, I think its the system. Needs changing slightly IMO

Rather in Europa league than in the league. Unlucky on the result, but enough good signs against a relatively strong and well organised opponent. Some good performances too. Coates barring the OG was excellent, Downings best performance (although he did have a couple of rough moments), Suarez scoring again and other positives, Robinson's overall performance. The class of Di Natale was the difference for them, but that's the way it goes.

Good warm up for Stoke I suppose. Udinese obviously play a lot better football and have a better calibre of player but they effectively soaked up pressure and were then smart with when/how they attacked. Stoke will be more mediocre but will roughly pose a similar sort of exercise.

Lucas is the missing link, we would not have conceeded tonight if he was on pitch.

what the **** was wrong with downing tonight? Assist, laid another on a plate, worked back, got involved and looked more positive. If he plays like this every game we'll have a useful player.

That is because we barely passed to him.

Downing was good tonight, I'm usually one of his biggest critics but I hate people putting the boot in for no reason. No rational argument for it you just called him a cash cow.

Fair enough on the whole he's been ****ing woeful but tonight? He got an assist, kept the ball, worked back hard and looked dangerous at times.

He was still not that great though. He fails to see the important passes on the counter and hogs the ball a bit too much when he should be laying it off to others and running.

no end product, way to obvious. tbh he probably had an average game tonight, but he's cooked his goose; 19Mill & he is absoloute pony at least 80% of every game

Nothing was wrong with Downing tonight. He was more of a threat than most of our team. I still don't think he has enough determination or quality to play for us though and I hope he proves me wrong.

I think it is. Joe Allen is not a defensive presence, he's getting worn down in that role and teams are cutting through us like butter in the middle.

Even when we beat West Brom, we still managed to concede two goals. That's a worry, everyone is scoring for fun against us.

Di Natale - what a player he is!

I thought we dropped too deep after half time. And then our passing about becomes frantic fannying about, we invite them on a bit and, get punished. We need a real leader at the back and Lucas in the midfield. Because we lost our shape when we dropped back.
