Good shout but I can't see the natural leader in him. Fantastic player, but I don't think he was / is being touted as a future Welsh captain. Missing something imo

Personally I would love to see Luis get the Captaincy, but tragically he is just tainted now in this country and I just cannot see BR giving him the role. Anyhow, Stevie has a good couple of seasons in him yet.

Goalie captains just seem wrong, I like a captain to be involved, able to influence the play. If you have a keeper as captain, you need another captain out in play as well, so you might as well not bother having the keeper.

I'd go for Agger, with Lucas as VC. If they're both injured, then Suarez.

Agger is a good shout I suppose. But I think the players all seem to look at Lucas. Plus the way Rodgers talks about him makes it seem even more inevitable.

Very much the example he wants others to follow.

I think you could quite easily apply all those to Lucas too.

Either would be an outstanding candidate though, I suppose it would come down to the sort of thing the fans only have a small bit on insight into, who would be the greater leader in the locker room, sets the better example in training and so on.

Head and shoulders above the other possibilities though. Pepe... perhaps, but he seems more prone to mood swings than the others. Skrtel, not for me, I think he's good but not great and am not sure he'll have much of a career at the club beyond 30. Allen I can see it actually taking away from his game, doesn't seem that sort of character. Suarez? Lets just let him do his thing eh, I know he's done it elsewhere but I'm never a fan of forwards as captain, let alone ones as unpredictable as Luis.

I think Agger would/is more vocal on the pitch so he'd by my choice. Lucas would be a leading-by-example type, which is what Stevie is.

I think the importance of captaincy in club football means eff all to be quite honest. I would make the whole team captain - every week they should take it in turns to wear the armband

It's nice to read through this and realise that we have a lot who could be considered future captain material. Agger, Lucas, Suarez, Skrtel, Allen, Shelvey etc

Personally my choice is Daniel Agger because he leads by example and I don't think there is anybody who loves the club more than him other than Gerrard.

I'll just be happy to see Lucas as our next DM. Really hope he stays fit for the remainder of the season once he gets back.
