i think its only fair to judge rodgers once he has his own players in who are suited to playing his style. At the moment he's having to put up with some players that he knows clearly cant do the job but he's no other option.

We played well for the first 15 mins and then in the second half we had a couple of good spells. The biggest issue is that even when we're on top we dont look a goal threat.

it took a genuinely genuis bit of play from suarez to bail us out.

Shelvey didnt have a good game today but thats what you get with young players whereas sterling was immense. its a massive shame that we have to play a 17 year old every week to help us win games and its not doing him any favours. Allen looks like he's on his last legs and needs a break.

My uncles idolise Kenny (they were teens in the 70s/80s) so I grew up hearing all about him. Didn't really take to him till he came back but I felt the way in which he was let go was really quite sad. Also a lot of things make me cry. So perhaps that should allay your confusion

Agree. I think it would be quite interesting to see Gerrard and Suso swap positions.

Must comment on the officials.

What a surprising performance. Unbelieveable. Its almost like they reffed with gay abandon and no word in the ear from Ferguson.

That'll change when they're relegated to the championship.

As much as we've (justifiably) whinged about the refs this season, today the officials were very good and kept the game firmly under control.

Can't agree.........they are exactly the kind of 'penos' that I'd rather refs do not give IMO.
Granted Charlie Adam made a decent point saying that if the ball had of went over Coloccini rather than off him to the side, the ref might have given the pen if he felt the contact was warranted......we'll never know.
But for some reason, the likes of Sky are fixated on whether or not there is 'contact', stating that if there is 'contact' there has to be a peno..................which is wrong. If the ref deems a foul of a punishable offence nature has taken place in the box, he is to award a peno.......that's the rule, not ****ing 'contact' which for some reason Sky seem to want to pinpoint down to the smallest amount with multiple replays and slow-motion.
No matter how many times I look at that challenge, I cannot see a foul worthy of punishment. There is 'contact' between Coloccini and Luis, but its nowhere near enough to warrant a player going down, and it can even be argued that it was Luis who moved towards the defender's leg and as soon as he feels something, he goes down under unnatural force.

Sorry if that comes across as harsh, seeing as how it seems to be the accepted rationale for penalty awards these days......with certain teams out there benefiting more than others, but it really is one area of decision-making by officials I'd love to see better implemented across the board.
Absolutely no problems with the ref today for me, and he even went out of his way to avoid giving Sterling a caution, preferring to involve Gerrard in his talk with the young lad.

Another great performance without the end product. One thing is for sure, personally I really enjoy watching us play again. Problem as I see it, nowhere near enough responsibility been taken by the team for goals.

Sahin, needs to get onto the ball in the box more, Suso needs to play more inside and Both Sterling and Suso need to get closer to Suarez in the box when he has the ball, we simply do not have enough players in the box most of the time.

All that said, I am happy, we asked for progress in terms of a style of play, we are certainly seeing that, I think the 2nd half of the season can be a really good one for us.

Whilst working out the kinks of the challenging yet entertaining style of play, bedding in a new manager and backroom team, playing the youngest Liverpool team I can remember week in week out, missing our influncial mid field general Lucas and with one recognized senior striker we are 4pts behind Arsenal

I thought the officials were good, I think we got fair decisions, nothing more nothing less.

Another well played game without getting the final result needed - been going on for ~1½ seasons now!

We still really need some firepower up front, some more clinical finishers. Yesterday Shelvey, Sterling and Suso all had chances enough that we should have put a few more away. I know they are young, and it's not quite fair to put all the pressure on them, but they lack some composure in their play. We really need some more experience amongst the last 4-5 players to both take pressure away from the youngsters and to give them a breather now and then.

Our defence finally looks solid again, seems like Agger and Skrtel have found eachother perfectly again. Enrique I really don't see much in anymore, not sure what he contributes?

I think we are progressing as a team, and hopefully we will soon start to convert draws in to wins, but I'm afraid it might not happen untill we get a better (or outright really) striker in the team, and hopefully in January.

The talent is there, the play is getting there - we just need the last push.
