Until I saw this post I was beginning to think I'd watched a different game!

We conceded a crap goal on the counter where Downing switched off at the back post and then conceded a goal where there was a massive deflection. We should have had 2 penalties, had the ball cleared off the line twice, dominated possession and looked dangerous.

I genuinely thought we played well and were by far the better team.

Results are ultimately all that matter and BR is not delivering ATM.

Baffling that Downing was again selected as our LB after his performance on Sunday. Worrying.

Probably a lot to do with lack of options. Especially as Enrique has been good further forward.

We were the better team for much of the game, I agree. If we had started playing before the half hour mark we could well have won. Shame we didn't, and I don't know why we didn't.

Theres no excuse for playing downing at left back. Hes the one who sold Kuyt and maxi in the summer and let carroll go out on loan.

Kuyt and Maxi were packing their bags before BR was appointed, not replacing Carroll was a major **** up I agree.

He's a good player and his best position is CM. Don't think he needs to be doing anything special. He rarely loses the ball.

He rarely doe anything with the ball. I had him down as an unspectacular player who does the simple things well enough after last season. Though he could add other elements to his game in time. But he really hasn't. He is just utterly pointless, just makes up numbers imo.

We should be capable of winning all of those games with maybe Udinese away but been honest not that fussed about Europa need to start winning league games

Option are there depends how you use them

Play Johnson LB, play Carra RB
play Agger LB, play Coates or Carra in Middle. Its been done plenty of times before.
