I think they wanted rid of a lot of the highly paid players who were not involved in the first team removed. Not quite the same. They have shown with their other sports they (and us) that are willing to put money in.

Why? After the first goal they did nothing in our penalty area.

Theres too big of a gap between the midfield and defence and it will be exposed alot this season. Lambert has the ability to make a mug of our defence at the weekend. But i do think we will beat them by 2 or 3 goals but i do think they will get a goal.

Problem once again that we aren't clinical enough in front of goals we had a number of good chances but didn't take any of them.

Had Rodgers had a choice (and a pair of balls) i believe he would have kept Maxi, Bellamy and Kuyt - they may have not set the world alight last season but they would have given us some strength this.

They are cost cutting at the Red Sox also having cocked up with appointing Valentine.
They haven't got the resources to support both teams.
