    Mediocre at best

Wasn't sure where to post this so **** it, new thread, merge if u want mods...I've had a beer or six

    **** it...at the end of the day...we are ****.

Yes we tonight we kept the ball well, had harsh decisions against us, created loads of chances but couldn't take them, had more possession, unlucky to concede and blah blah...but lost...

But it's the same virtually every game, and it's a ****ing ****ty cliche, but the league doesn't lie....

    We are 12th....with only 3 wins from 14 games and 7 draws 4 losses.....that is ****ing ****e

Our next 3 league games are

    Southampton home
    West ham away
    Villa home

Three ****ing ****e teams, no two ways about it, ****e teams, potential relegation candidates,....on paper that should be three wins....certainly bit of bad luck two wins and a draw, 7 points

I tell you now.....we will only get four points....a win, draw and lose...not sure which order but that's what we will get.

We are ****ing ****...it's a results game, the performances might not be bad, almost great at times but we are not good enough to win games,

I'm not going to blame Rodgers, I actually think to be fair to him, he's almost got us playing some decent football, but we just do not have the quality and the strength in depth required to even be a top six side

And the one player we do have, Suarez, will ****ing go in the summer and I don't ****ing blame him

    Rant over

Hmm...see I don't 'blame' Rodgers as such,..****ing hodgson was dire, we were dreadful...Rodgers, has at least made us look like a football team...we just don't have the personnel or the money to get the personnel to make his style work.

Our players just aren't good enough.

The thing that annoys me most is the money spent on them. Downing and Henderson tonight had no cutting edge at all. It's not like they're squad players who should be making up the numbers, they're £20m players.

That people who supposedly know about football can spend those amounts of money on players proper winds me up. That's without mentioning our £35m striker on loan at West Ham.

The tactics are good and the statistics show that, but as many good managers have said in the past - players win you matches.

Just need to lower your expectations mate and don't worry so much about it. We are the type of team that will always keep rising to the top in the end and we'll get there again. The darkest hour is right before the dawn and I think we are on the verge of the dawn.

We have a first 11 capable of beating anyone, we have a poor/inexperienced squad. The problem isn't with the players, it's with the management and the system. We're not getting the best out of what we have. Either Rodgers is being stubborn or he really doesn't know what he's doing. Let's get the best out of the players we have before we continue failing to implement a system which clearly isn't working.

                I disagree about the personnel.

We do have the personnel. We do have a very very good 1st team...when they want to play and when they show up. I don't blame the manager for the players that are half arsed one week and show up the next week. I do blame the manager for the set up and tactics.

                Pepe
                Johnson Agger Skrtel
                Lucas Gerrard

are the constant players over a dire 3 year period.

One player has been gash, served us well, but has been the biggest issue for all 4 managers. When to drop, when to sub, where to play him. I can't believe he has actually played better for england this year then us.

Implementing a new system takes time. When he joined everybody was prepared to give him a season and he told us it would take a long time before we are challenging for the champions league. It seems the only one managing expectations is Rodgers. The fans just can't do it. They all lose their heads after 5 months and think oh we are doomed. Its just tiresome. We'll win a couple of games and everyone on here will be saying things are looking up. Then we'll lose a couple on the trot and everyone thinks Rodgers is an idiot. I don't know. Just think we need to give the manager time to do his thing and not judge until he has had at least a couple more transfer windows to shape his side.

Even though we have average squad at best we should have done more.

We played 14 games in PL thus far and only have 16 points to show for. That is below any expectations and you cannot sugar-coat that.

Yes we had some injuries but other clubs have too so we have to accept the fact that we ****ed up this summer by not addressing the same issue that plagued us for few years now.

It is very heartbreaking to watch us play these days as I grew up watching LIverpool compete for highest honors and these days I catch myself thinking that if we get a draw at Swansea etc. that is a good result...

This is complete rubbish, Rodgers doesn't have a couple more transfer windows. He has a hugely significant rebuilding job on his hands and so far he's failing. He deserves some patience, but so far he has underachieved massively given the players he has inherited.

How polite of you to say. Well I see his side already taking shape so I think after 2 transfer windows we should be able to see him stamp his authority...

I don't want him gone or anything like that but imo he is somewhat responsible for our mediocrity.

He played quite a few players out of their positions (Enrique as Mid and Left winger, Downing as LB, Borini on the left when he is most deadly in the middle, Sterling on the right when he is most productive on the left etc.) and the way he handled Carroll situation and to some extent Enrique, Downing and Joe Cole was far from ideal.

He is a young manager and I truly wish him the best of luck but even today I thought he got the lineup wrong, which cost us any points.

You clearly see something I don't. We're no better now than we were under Hodgson or Dalglish. I like Joe Allen and I admire the way Rodgers has given young players such as Sterling, Suso and Shelvey more opportunities. It hasn't worked though has it? A good manager has teams punching above their weight and we seem to be punching below ours. I am one of life's optimists, but we are clearly declining and there's no sign of an upturn. Rodgers is failing to get the best out of our players and I can't see any genuine progress.

Interesting views from baracus and elephant man...

I think we have 'some' players. But we have got ourselves into a situation where, squad level/promising youth player....are first teamers. They shouldn't be...

eg for me, sterling, shelvey, suso. Wisdom
The four of them, no way I'll ever slag them off, four very promising youngsters with the potential of becoming top players, but cause we are so poor we are relying on them to produce week in week out, they can't...it can't be expected of the, they should be cover, being rotated, playing last twenty mins or starting in the Europa etc

                              For me....

                              Reina
                              Johnson skrtel agger
                              Allen gerrard
                              Suarez

Is all we really have as what I'd call should be reliable, top cconsistent performers, and I'm not sure yet if Allen justifies being in that list....and two of the tip players in that list, Reina and gerrard, have both been ****ing woeful this season

Which means, IMO, we have four...four....first team, experienced reliable players with quality, one of wich is public enemy number one which means 99 percent of decisions go against him.

So for me, it's a difficult one...ok, Rodgers could maybe adapt better and try something to suit what we got....but we also have a clear lack of quality in the personnel

There is no knowing what Lucas is going to come back like...our midfield is so weak and disjointed its untrue...

We need at least a ****ing top class centre mid, a top goalscorer, and top class winger...and arguably a good left back (ok enriiqie has improved further foward, but we should have a better attacking option than him, and he has looked **** at left back, so he's a squaddie at best)

                              And the worry is...

                              A) we spent (**** net spend, Torres fee into account blah blah arguments) we have spent...£75m on three players that play in the three positions I believe we lack, and not one of them gives us ****ing anything

                              B) because of that spend, I don't believe we have the cash available to rectify, certainly not in January..,which means

                              C) things will only get worse, cause we will continue to struggle, and the good players/promising youth we do have will jump ship.

We have been on a downward spiral for a long time now. And it's close to ****ing crashing

Right now...we will do well for a top ten finish, and maybe a cup run, but no trophies

                              Mediocre at best
