And less of some of the claptrap I've read on here.
      Are we winning?

Nobody is asking for his head so I dont see what the problem is

You can be critical of a manager without wanting him gone

Rodgers deserves criticism imo we've underperformed

That's where I disagree. Expectations should be held back until next season imo. Unless we get sucked into a relegation dogfight.

It's too early to be sharpening the knives. I can understand that some people are worried, as we haven't a consistent run of win successively for years now. But we're improving and that's the only thing we need to focus on at the moment. Finishing 10th, 8th or 4th is irrelevant as I'm sure no one knows where we'll end up this season, not even Rodgers.

Again people talk as though my expectations are unreasonable

I dont expect us to win the league, I dont even expect us to finish top 4

I do expect us to have a better start than our worst start in the last 20 years or so

There is no sign we are improving in terms of results we've taken 4 points out of the last 3 games

I don't want to sack him, but I am worried that he is trying to do too much too soon, and we are definately underperforming!

No one is expecting us to finish top four (I think) but I don't think it's unfair to expect us to challenge for 7th or 6th. And let's see if we are improving, Kenny had us finishing 7th and almost got us two cups but was sacked, that puts pressure on whoever would succeed him.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I think we are performing as expected. With the team Brendan inherited its pretty much the same as last season. We are not taking chances and not getting enough players in the box. There are similar problems but I didn't expect Brendan to come in and change that in 1 season. It will take at least a couple before we start seeing major improvement I think. I am happy with our overall performances and I wouldn't be disappointed with a mid table finish.

Well, all I'm saying is that people need to know what they want. Last year a lot of people were asking for the owners to take action and that Kenny had wasted x amount of money and had no defined way of playing etc ... Now we have a new man in charge, there are criticisms as to how bad we've started the league.

Some people need to be sensible. It's miles away from Roy Hodgson's football.

                      Go Nigey!

I mean that in both senses of course.

Anyway, I have my concerns about how things will turn out under Rodgers but it's hopelessly premature to judge how well he'll do. As you say, at least the football is better. He also seems to understand the club better, and there are some encouraging signs, such as ditching most of the poor players and a degree of innovative thinking. He's also young enough for us to hope his best days as a manager are ahead of him and that he will get better, more effective, etc.

But it's depressing to be so far off the pace and I can understand why people are casting around looking for people to blame and changes to make. It doesn't really help though. It's just a matter of being patient and trying to keep frustrations in check.

The football is better to watch but the results are worse than under Roy

I hated watching us play under Roy it was the anti-thesis of everything a football team should do and Rodgers football is much nicer to watch but results speak for themselves

The next few weeks are critical for Rodgers he has to start putting together wins

In what way are they "critical for Rodgers"? What do you think will realistically happen if things don't improve?

I've read quite a few of your posts this morning and I think you're unnecessarily and, at times unfairly, critical. To give just two examples that jumped out: "results speak for themselves" - well, no, not entirely actually. Not unless you want them to for some reason or other.

And as for the idea that Gerrard's only defensive asset was his pace, it rather neglects to mention that he always used to be able to tackle too. As a defender, he was hardly just a faster version of Paul Scholes or Michael "What does he do?" Carrick.

It's very frustrating and a little depressing but I feel you're overdramatising it. If we're still here in a year then yeah.

The results, and the defensive error stats paint the picture that we're changing the playing style from the middle/front rather than building from a solid backline.

We will ship more goals this way (we were warned about the rise in defensive mistakes as we transition to the new playing style) but if we could finish properly, we will absolutely batter teams.

If were were more clinical, teams would focus more on defence when playing us meaning less attempts on our goal and therefore less goals conceded. if we were more clinical we would be scoring more goals.

strikers it is. Bent, Walcott, sturridge. They'll all do for me as it will add to what we have
