Zapater: in fairness to Downing, he was good against West Ham and was many neutrals MOTM against Villa. So he has been improving.

i wouldn't take anyone's opinion as gospel who overlooked benteke and chose downing after watching last week.

I asked this earlier, how much did not having Allen in the team make a difference?

Personally I don't think that's massively fair. You could just as easily ask whether not having Sterling in the team made the difference.

Allen or no I think we were always winning that one, we've been playing decently even in most games we've lost this season and Fulham were set up perfectly for us. As soon as the first one went in, even when Agger & Suarez did their ridiculous miss things, we always were going to be comfortable winners.
