Very good points.Originally posted by CAD View PostThe issue is most certainly the midfield. We are headless chickens without and structure. We need a leader and a creator. We have zero direction or shape. We need more players with real quality. Other than Sterling I honestly dont think there is much there to build a top 4 finish on.
Hernderson?! no thanks
Cole?! No chance.
Gerrard - Too late to build around imo.
Downing - he is out of here.
Sahin - If he has it he is really good at hiding it
Lucas - I cant see it
Allen . Can he connect the dots...doubt it
Shelvey - eratic
We are thin as **** arent we?? No wonder we are up **** creek at this stage...the worst squad for many many years imo.

Never said it was bad luck. We got nothing, we deserved nothing. The confidence is really brittle in the squad I agree, we were able to play our way against Fulham which meant we didn't get nervous. Stoke, to their credit got involved, we didn't like it up us and got beat.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostTheir first goal, ok, it was a bad slip but the way Kenwyne Jones lost Agger for the second was just too easy.
So every week there's always individual erros. At the end of the day, you have to say that it's not just bad luck ad there's maybe a real lack of confidence and belief in the squad.Com ce, com ca.

The first touch of many of the players was totally abject, even when they weren't under pressure from a Stoke player. Is is true that the players had the day off yesterday when normally we train on Christmas morning in preperation for the Boxing Day game?
The midfield looked totally inept even though we had plenty of space at times to attack their central defence. Stoke's tactic of boxing our defenders in when they had possession worked a treat for them; they basically crumpled us, and it wasn't solely down to being over-physical.

I was saying exactly the same a week ago, but it's not as of we're playing a new style of football but not executing brilliantly. We have decent players, players who should be able to at least do it partially successfully. We don't make runs and space for passes, we don't close down as a team and we don't keep any kind of tempo. There was no evidence of any new kind of football today, just us doing everything badly.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostExactly, BR is trying to clean up a mess while simultaneously trying to play a style of football that his current crop of players are not capable of executing but may pay off in the long run. I like our manager and am happy that he will be given plenty of time but he definitely needs to hls game because we were better under Kenny.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

shelvey - has shown he has got something to build on.
gerrard - correct although he can be used for another few years IMO
sahin - biggest disappointment for me. watched him at dortmund couple years back and expected more from him but he looks softer than hendo which is some going
lucas - he's a beast and will come good when fit again after a year out
allen - needs time to show what he can do further up fieldPeople who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Yup i've pretty much said this for a while now...get more goals & i reckon we'll not get shafted like we did today or against villa. Saying that though if the players coming in in Jan fail to get goals then im not so sure BR is the man to take us any further.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostAgree with all that tbh. That said.....
First half, we were okay. Slip by Skrtel and Goal from a corner. We created plenty and looked fairly lively. Then they score early and we give up really.
Shocking in the second half because we showed no fight. When Man Utd go down they roll up their sleeves. They may lose, but they create chance after chance and go down fighting.
That comes from belief. Be honest, we all knew we'd lost at 3-1. Manc fans think the opposite. Same applies to the players.
Hopefully with some new attacking players we'll get some goals flowing and our team will actually think we can come back from a deficit.
We need to pass to score and not just pass (pretty badly at times) for the sake of passing (as it feels now).

That's not really an excuse for that, we haven't been doing it all season.Originally posted by Nigey View PostTiredness. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
