We don't have a squad good enough to be a Liverpool side. We have a better one than many above us, but the problem is that teams raise their game against LFC because of the history.

If this side was at West Brom we'd be in the top 4. Still doesn't justify our team pretty much downing tools at 3-1 though. We were in the game until the third went in and had we made it 2-2 I reckon we'd have won. Not enough fight.

rodgers believes in his system, and bugger the consequences if it isnt clicking

i mentioned last week that imho the manager should be trying to get the best out of the players he has. i also mentioned that stoke play to their strengths and do well.
we need more beef in the middle of the pitch, not just in terms of the physical presence of our players, but also in numbers. we will keep playing this 433 if it kills us. rodgers will not swallow his pride/ego and go 451 or 4231 or whatever, its just his 'plan' and it sadly looks lacking.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

If we beat QPR next, all of this will be forgotten again. Thats where we are at. No point getting worked up about 1 game. If we lose 3 in a row then its cause for concern.

Correct me if I'm wrong not seen a single mention of why we lost?

For me we couldn't handle Jones. He won virtually every aerial duel, which allowed Stoke an easy out ball and got them into our half all too easy.

Neither Agger or Skrtel could stop him. Perhaps Coates with his height would have stood more of a chance - or this imaginary tall defensive midfield warrior we are crying out for could have dropped deeper to make things uncomfortable.

Rodgers got his tactics totally wrong last night - again. Yes we all know the squad is lacking but he's getting the basics wrong more often than not.

Not one of his summer signings played last night.

              Allen - unused sub
              Borini - injured
Sahin - not selected in the squad
              Assaidi - gone missing

Assaidi, Sahin and Allen should play against QPR. What harm can it do?

We still haven't beaten a single good side all season. Beaten no-one above us.

Wins against Southampton, Norwich, Fulham, Reading, West Ham and Wigan.

Manchester United, Arsenal & Manchester City away in the next 5 weeks - so it's not gonna get any better.

All I'd like is a Europa League place for next season. Don't think we'll even get that unless it's via some obscure Fair Play route.

Thought we looked lacklustre yesterday, especially in the first half. Enrique for me was back to his woeful self, gives the ball away far too often by trying to be too clever. Downing lacked urgency and drive again after his recent upsurge and Shelvey was awful: looked like his Sunday league cousin...

Rodgers still needs time. Steve Clarke is the only thing I miss from the Dalglish regime - we would be more solid at the back with Clarke on the training pitch. Rodgers has little to play with having shipped out some dead wood/reduced the weekly wage bill... and he should be given credit for doing so. FSG need to back him both in Jan and in the summer. If Rodgers is still out of his depth next season and lost for a 'plan b' then he should (and will) go. I'm not convinced by the back room staff Rodgers has brought in - if they were better/stronger, Rodgers' approach might be seen in a much better light...

Sorry but we were not solid at the back at the end of last season.

matt you have to admit we've got some really good defenders in Johnson, agger, skrtel and Enrique.

Individually they're all pretty good and as a collective they should be too. But it takes more than good individuals to make a solid defence.

Its about the unit and imo we still don't defend well enough as a group. That's why we look shaky every time were attacked.

There's nothing innovative to speak of that we could be positive about. If we were drawing most games you could justifiably say that forward players would make a big difference.

We're getting out battled and out thought in most matches and we've lost the appetite for the fight.
out battled and out muscled. looks like its not just the attack that needs some change.

We have the same issue as last season. Not enough midfield cover.

I know you're not a big fan of Henderson but his energy has made a difference when he's been on the pitch. Alternatively Diame is available and he could be a very muscular addition. But Lucas Allen he do are all capable of forming a very solid midfield 3.

Kennys biggest mistake last season was not bringing in a replacement for Lucas and persisting with Adam in central midfield.
