My IAFN post was in relation to El Mata's posts lately.
    Are we winning?

Budget constraints - transfer fee, salary, agent fee - could have been huge money for a short term signing. That's a business decision based on likely ROI and like it or not football clubs bar one or two are businesses

It's ok, I didn't take you seriously. No one does, Tarzy.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

There's a difference between backing the manager and giving him an open chequebook. Which would you rather?

Anyways, are we dismissing that story about Dempsey preferring to stay in London because of his wife's job and his studies?

Would be tempted to restore brad jones in goal. We don't lose when he plays.

I'm reading this thread in the absence of having anything better to do. Has El Mat gassed himself yet? I'm starting to get concerned at his mental wellbeing.
              Oh I don't know.

Open chequebook? That's ridiculous, and it is a well known fact that Dempsey was desperate to move to us. Not bothered we missed out but it set the tone for our season IMO.

How is it a well-known fact? Has he been caught on video saying it since his move to Spurs? Or perhaps it's just been widely reported but then so have lots of things that are complete b*ll*cks.

The point about the distinction I'm making is that the manager should have justify his spending decisions. The notion of 'back him or sack him' is simplistic, it's not how things work in reality.

In this instance not backing him was significant and may have cost us this season. For whatever reason they failed to deliver for him.

Hyperbole. They gave him decent resources to work with.

Perhaps we pulled out of Dempsey due to the tapping up we were accused of, who knows

I agree with Casemore. Tee, your take looks to me like a theory built on assumptions that may not have even the flimsiest foundations.
