Yeah ****ing brilliant idea. Foot injury and thigh injury. Might as well go and make yourself available for a meaningless friendly.

Who really gives a **** if it's Germany. Have to think sometimes how serious some of our players are about getting Top 4 this season. Risking long term injuries for some pointless international matches

I understand players wanting to play football and the risks they will take to do so. Whilst I don't think they are making these decisions to the detriment of a top four challenge, I do agree with the gist of your post, Bras.

Adds weight to the opinion that footballers (with the exception of Clark Carlisle) are dumb

I can't imagine he's carrying anything serious as otherwise he'd certainly not be playing.

Oh and Carlise isn't dumb he's just a moron

He's had this foot injury for a few weeks. But I read that he's struggling with a thigh injury aswell.

Just odd for me. A lot of the top German players aren't even playing. They've sold something like 1000 tickets of their allocation, yet we're treating it over here as some huge game that's going to give a measure of how well we'll do in the World Cup.

Not heard anything on a thigh injury, that would be something that would put him out.

I think there's two things here the "injury" is likely nothing more than a niggle which I think he's said and its a lot better and secondly he's trying to make sure he's on the plane to Rio as he's one of those that's probably not cemented his place in the squad yet.

Understandable really he wants to make sure he makes the World Cup, I'd say it's still the pinnacle in most footballers eyes to play for their country at a World Cup

and if/when we beat them the bodge will be hailed as the second coming
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He said he'd been playing with a thigh injury around the time of the win against Man Utd.

Was it his thigh or his foot ?

I remember talk of a foot niggle, but this international break is the first i've heard about his thigh ?

Daniel Sturridge will play through the pain barrier on Tuesday night to try to help England pull off a shock win over Germany.

Sturridge was a helpless spectator on Friday as he sat out England's sobering 2-0 defeat to Chile at Wembley.

The Liverpool striker has been carrying a thigh injury for most of the season, but even though the problem has not healed fully, he is determined to lead the line for the Three Lions for what promises to be a mouth-watering encounter.

"This thigh injury has been lingering for a while and it's still frustrating me but I'm going to put the shirt on and try and perform as best as I can," the former Chelsea man said.

"I have been playing with it for the last couple of games and it has been hindering my performance.

"I had a scan and the scan showed it was similar to what it was before but it is not a problem for me.

"I am raring to go for the game. I am delighted that the pain is not as bad and I am looking forward to it."

                        Yep, thigh

Daniel Sturridge revealed that he had played with a thigh injury after scoring Liverpool's winner in a 1-0 victory over Manchester United.
"I had a problem with my thigh before the game, it's still hindering me now, but I went out and put on a good performance for the boys.
