All the stories about depression can be linked back to Ian Wright's article on the BBC. That's when they came out. I think the original source was Roy Evans. Liverpool rumour mill did the rest.

Incredibly frustrating though. And no wonder Klopp is sick of it.

Our only world class player. Gutted that he's more or less finished at our club.

I think I have got to the stage now, where if there is a chance I would like to offload him in the summer. People can say, but a fit Daniel Sturridge is a world beater and he is. But there comes a time when you have to look at the cold hard facts ... when we signed Sturridge, he was untapped potential, a combination of youth, talent, lack of fitness and mis management. We developed him exceptionally under Rodgers, he emerged as a force in world football, keeping up with Suarez in terms of goals and sheer creativity. It was a fleeting moment in a career otherwise plagued with injuries and issues.

We all hoped he could turn it around, its looking all but certain he cannot. I for one think its in the Clubs best interest, in the best interest of our team, in the best interest of our future Lg position in seasons to come, that we find a way to offload him in the summer, regardless of if he comes back or not now.
I personally like the guy as a man, love him as player but as a member of our Squad hes horrendous and tieing up a boat load of wages which we could spend elsewhere. His time is up, he has missed his boat. Hes done.

Wouldn't class him as world class any more let alone a player.

That season with Louie... he was the most prolific striker in Europe ... if he remained fit over the past 2 seasons he would have been playing for Real Madrid now I have no doubt

Quite possible but he was brilliant, but imo i don't think it's injuries keeping him out there's something else going on and injuries is a front....but that's just my opinion....the longer this continues the fans will turn on him.

What benefit would be gained by offloading him ?

What benefit would be gained by keeping him if he cannot or will not play?. Its not good for the fans, its not good for Klopp having the answer questions about him every 3 days, its not good for ammount of money we are spending on his wages, and its not good for the make up of the squad.

Personally I think we would gain a lot by, taking a hit on his fee, letting someone like West Ham take a punt on him and replacing him with someone like Paulo Dybala or someone like him. Someone at the start of his upward trajectory not a player is nose diving like a lead ballon.

Not much. But I think Klopp will sell him. He wants committed players and everything leaking from Anfield is that he's not very happy with him. This situation can obviously change, but I personally can't see it.

All well and good saying offload him and replace with X however it's not that easy to sign these players, if we could replace with someone of equal quality/potential then great.

For me I'd rather see us move on and look to replace some of the others we have hanging around the squad with better quality than one of our genuine game winners. All moot of course if we can't get him fit.

I'm sure if we do offload him and he goes and scores a hatful elsewhere Ayre will shown as the incompetent idiot for allowing him to go

This I agree with. Letting him move on for me doesn't achieve anything positive for us really but it's something that is likely to happen.

I just hope if it does come to this we can recruit the right type of player (my belief this will happen is not that high)
