Yeah most likely .. but this is not his first time at the Rodeo ... best not to be too honest in interviews ...

The team won thats the important bit .. bla bla bla .... I'll play wherever the team needs me bla bla bla etc etc ad nauseam

      Thats true also.

But we as a fanbase seem to be drawn into this kind of drama far to easily.

I really dont care that much anymore, for me right now we have the absolute best manager possible, a bigger stadium and regardless of what people say, smart owners who are prepared to spend money when appropriate, add to this bloody Leicester, won the lg last year ... Anything is possible ... Enjoy the good games, dont stress too much about the bad ones .. its football ... enjoy the ride

I would feckin bomb Sturridge out.............if he wasn't so ****in good!!!

We need to get the best out of him in my view. And guess what, playing him sparingly might be the best way to get the best out of him. Have him grumpy - because when he is needed, then he will score goals anyway. He will be hungrier now because he will know he is not #1 striker at the club any more. And if he has anyhting about him, then that will kick him on to get goals when he does get on the pitch.

              Storm in a teacup really.

What the Guardian put up was very selective, and they left out plenty of what Sturridge said. Noticed that there was a lot more put up in the Echo from the same interview, and it reads as quite a balanced opinion being put forward by Sturridge.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

To be fair the whole thing was well handled by Klopp who said players have to play in fluid positions anyway so it's a non-story regardless of whatever was said, and that in knowing Sturridge he understands this.

Love how the press are asking about a non-story to drum up a story and getting nowhere.

Even when Dan plays as a CF he always goes wide during the game anyhow ,

Like the fact that club are no longer reliant on him being the main man as to get goals which in turn could turn out in our favour with him playing without pressure.
He can still be the main man if he wants but at his discretion to be 100% Daniel Sturridge to continue as king of the goalscorers at LFC...simply get the right ball to me & 8 or 9 times out of 10, it will be at the back of the net regardless of how good the goal was!

Like Paisley said to Rush "Son, just stick the ball in the back of the net then we can talk about the options later!"...This would apply to Sturridge's attitude to goalscoring.

He didn't seem that happy about scoring against Burton. Sulky *******.

None of them did but I think that was more out of respect to the opposition.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

i can understand why kloppo wants to play sturridge out wide. With firmino as the front man, his movement makes it very difficult for central defenders to mark him properly and he drags people out of space.

I wanted us to buy another mane for the other flank, but in sturridge we probably have one. its his mentality which will stop him becoming a top player for us because he has the pace, tricks and goals to be another mane.

hopefully he adapts to this role because if it works we could destroy teams with that front trio of firmino/mane/sturridge.
