Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Moving Suarez is the right thing to do imo. He's such a creative player and will cause havoc from any position on the pitch. Often he drifts from his forward position leaving no one in the box which is frustrating given that neither suso nor sterling are natural forwards.

Its a good move but I think it means that either downing or borini is a certainty for the right hand side because of Suarez free spirit in his play. It will be very difficult to get him to be defensively disciplined so either of those two may have to do his running for him.

gives time to sterling and suso to develop nicely too.

            Looking forward to Sunday.

Unncessary for BR to comment on the strikers' positions IMO, just creates this focus/pressure on Sturridge now that we have basically been told Suarez will be moved to allow him to play centrally.

Actually I think it makes sense. I think most managers find it fairly easy to identify what dangers they face against us.

In a simplified version its like: "And the two centerbacks... make sure Suarez don't get the ball!"

Now the centerbacks will have to pay attention to a pacy Sturridge. One of the fullbacks will be very busy keeping up with Sterling. That leaves the other fullback to follow Suarez right, left, center when he drifts all across the field.

With my poor-mans sense of tactics I think what we will see now is that a DM gets the job to neutralize Suarez... And that will be exactly what Rodgers is hoping for, as that will create time and space for our midfield to pass it around.

A bit like at Barca. Having Messi in their team creates a lot of space for their midfield. And as Messi is impossible to mark out of a game he scores anyway. Same, on a minor scale, is what we are looking for.

There is no way Suarez will play "second fiddle" to Sturridge, just because he gets the 9 role.

Is he fit or is he injured? Fit to play on sunday?

For the remainder of this season i'd like to see Suarez stay in his current role just so that he wins the golden boot. It will deny RVP the award, and it will shut all the cynics up

i honestly don't think moving him will hurt his numbers any, if at all unless you want to move him further back the field.

                        I'd prefer to see a front 3 of Enrique/Sterling -- Sturridge -- Suarez

The only problem is I don't want Suarez using all of his energy tracking back and then not being able to break at full pace. I'm always an advocate of wide players tracking but with Luis it's a waste.

Just look at Messi, he rarely runs throughout the game, as soon as there's an attack he runs and has so much energy he devastates.

If he played on the right, I think we'd need someone better at defending than Johnson and to swap Johnson over to LB. I think Glen is great but he's not the world's best defender and I think teams would exploit that, it could be a weak spot for us. With Johnson LB and Enrique LW I think we'd have one hell of a left side.

I think Kelly is coming along well but I'm not certain he could be the man to run the whole right side in essence.

Think Luis will play behind Sturridge, that is, from a central starting point. He's always tracked back anyway, so I don't think he'll lose anything.

he played on the left before and scored something like 49 goals in 48 matches.

Yeah, think that doesn't really matter where he plays in those forward positions. I'd play him either side of Sturridge, with Gerrard/Shelvey just behind in the No. 10 role and two defensive midfielders behind.

That would be interesting to see, but unsure how this would affect the midfield shape. Would he be part of the three midfielders or three forwards?

Suarez always does everything at 100% so I don't think he could be shackled to reserving his energy for when we're attacking. Indeed, I don't think BR would want this. Suarez is a crucial part of his high-energy pressing game.
