i was seriously impressed in allens first few games but he has regressed somewhat. still i think he'll be a fine player for us. he might struggle to get in the side at the minute due to henderson who i am a fan of.

He has clearly taken a lot of burden of Suarez schoulders - maybe even so much, that Suarez were too unconcentrated today - not on purpose, but just getting used to not having to carry it all by hiimself... ;-)

Very good game from him today.....excellent touch, looked up more than once to pick out the best pass rather than over-running it, great goal as well. Looked a bit out of sorts in the second half as he clearly looked to be feeling that strain in his thigh, but never once shirked his duty.

Loved his reaction to coming off.....smiles all round, applauding all sides of the ground. Wound them up.......bigtime.

I was against his signing when we were first linked to him. I don't think I have ever been this wrong about a player.

He was brilliant today, a monster performance. One of the things which has surprised me about him is how well he holds up the ball.

His hold-up play is excellent.

I don't mean this in the bad way but I cannot but not to think of Carroll's as a comparison...what a waste..

Too early to be smug, but I thought this was a good transfer from the very beginning, and for a reasonable fee too. Always liked the way he plays; intelligent, wants the ball, wants to score and has confidence in his own ability. Just the right sort of player to put alongside Suarez too.

Sturridge was so good today that he almost made Suarez look ordinary but I guess I'm just used to seeing Suarez carry the attack single handidly.
