I really don't know what more Sturridge could've done.

He's had a couple of crap games yeah, but he's been a brilliant signing. Class.

Form, for us, is indisputable so far. Anonymous games don't really matter if his return stays at the same rate. Torres at his peak for us often did very little else in games other than score great goals.

The injury thing is a slightly greater concern though. It would be really good to see him manage a full season of regular play without any serious absences to allay those worries somewhat.

What tale shall serve me here among
      Mine angry and defrauded young?

I agree about the injury issues although going by http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/st...ler_47082.html

It doesn't seem that he's actually missed that much football due to injuries.

That table is interesting, though it is missing his current ankle injury.

If you look at his career record however he has only even had what you would consider 1 full season (2011-12). Partly that's been because he has been young and not first choice, but he was very in and out with injuries last year and that I think is where the concern really originates. As I said, a ~30 league game season for us would dispel those doubts, however factual/imagined they may be.

Oh he needs 30 + games this season for us and hopefully we'll see him get them. If he get over 30 games I'd expect him to have a really decent return for us.

sturridge is an excellent striker. he doesnt need ten chances to get a goal. other players like borini or sterling can be very wasteful if front of goal but daniel seems to bang them in most of the time.
even if suarez goes, if we can ensure he has enough quality players around sturridge AND he stays fit he could be the top scorer this year
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Actually sometimes it does seem like he needs a few chances to get a goal.

Especially when he played in a Chelsea shirt, although we've seen it for us a couple of times too

I would guess his career ratio is pretty poor. Not because he is a poor finisher, he just usually takes the opportunity to shoot if it's there and has plenty of efforts most games. That was what we needed though when we signed him, too often we were guilty of trying to walk the ball into the net and since he's signed, the results have spoke for themselves.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

he defo needs a good fullish season

no european football, all being well we should be able to rest and rotate him for cup games.

for me, bare minimum he should be looking to start 25-30 league games this season. If he does that than i reckon he would be good for 15 to 20 league goals.

Any more would be a bonus - anything less (if it was due to fitness related) would be a concern
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Sturridge and Gerrard shouldn't play a minute of cup competition.

Nonsense. If they are fit enough to play, they should play.

except the early rounds of the milk cup.

No chance. Our priority must be the league. Borini can lead the line in the cups and both Allen and Henderson can come in for Gerrard and Lucas.
