If he gets a right foot, he'd be devastating plus he's becoming more and more aware of whats around him these days. If he carries this form onto the end of May is the big question mark IMO.

He's been consistently fantastic for us since January, I'd say that's a sustained amount of time.Originally posted by Muddled View PostNah, not me. I like Sturridge (I didn't want him initially, so he's making me eat my words), but I don't think he's world class. He's obviously **** hot and his scoring and assist stats are remarkable. However, I think he needs to do it over a sustained period of time. I think it's a conversation worth having come the end of May.

With no pre-season for us whatsoever and a significant injury in between. If someone clever took out the number of points he's scored for us in his 10 months we'd see where we would have finished in the league last season, or our current standing this.
Both readings would be cringing I bet.
One tit for another.

re sturridge.
if he can stay fit, then he could go on an be top top
player for us.
quick, strong, skilfull and can strike a ball - scores poachers goals (something we've missed) like the little header against united, can score solo efforts, and 30 yard screamers.
As i say, my only concern would be fitnessi own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I get your point, but I think he's been excellent over enough games now for this not to be considered just a purple patch.Originally posted by Muddled View PostI dunno fella, that's only 21 games to judge him on.
Not saying that's what you're calling it!
Re-reading your original post I think it was to counter someone calling him world class, which I'd agree with, he isn't...yet. He's got the potential to be and considering how well he's been playing, I don't think he's far off.
The press will be fawning all over him if he scores tonight though.

Fair enough, like I said, I think he has the potential and probably isn't that far off it. I can understand why people are calling him world class but for me, he's not quite there yet.Originally posted by BigChief View PostIts me calling him world class early doors. And I base that on nothing more than he puts me on the edge of my seat whenever I see him on the ball. Not many players do that for me.
Plenty time though!

This was kind of what I was getting at with my post earlier on - he has brilliant technique and a fantastic scoring record, he's direct and he looks like he knows what he's doing (compare that to fast, unaware, head down strikers we have watched before him - Baros and Cisse). Other than injury, there really isn't anything to suggest that his form wouldn't continue.Originally posted by BigChief View PostIts me calling him world class early doors. He seems less of a fits and starts goalscorer than Owen, has more athletic ability than Fowler and has better passing range and arguably first touch than Torres.
He's a fantastic signing - the club have signed an awful lot of player for the money.
