Yeah of course, people are always knee jerk in here. It's still too early, as we've got two big games coming up and keeping that level for a long period is a difficult one. But the fluency we've shown since Spurs is quite striking. When we'd have thought we'd be struggling in attack, we've seen Henderson, Allen and Sterling flourish with the added responsibility and the fluency in our play is something that has been missing since then I think. We've clearly stepped up a notch and having Sturridge and Gerrard on the bench would be the right spur to keep these players performing, which is what we'd want. Are we winning?

Exactly. Sturridge and Suarez have already demonstrated they can work as a partnership. As someone already mentioned when Sturridge plays it frees up space for Suarez and vice versa.Originally posted by john316 View PostSturridge walks back into this team. Up to the manager to find a formation that works but he's way too good to be a bench option!

the way the team is set up now it doesn't get the best out of Coutinho but its what we have to do at the moment. When Sturridge is fit he gets back in ahead of Sterling, centrally with Suarez and with Coutinho in his best position in behind them.
No brainer for me.I wouldn't be in any rush with Gerrard though, our midfield control in recent games has been much improved.

On current form I don't think it would be justified to drop either Sterling for Sturridge or Allen for Gerrard.Originally posted by Gazzla View PostI'm not doubting sturridge at all, he is a fantastic player and his performances have been top notch but looking at our recent displays, are we a better team without him?Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

No ****ing way it's a formality.Originally posted by G View PostNo way Sterling keeps his place ahead of Sturridge for me,he's been good but not that good. Of course Sturridge will have to fight to get back in but I think thats a formality.
You'd have to tweak that formation a little bit to accommodate Sturridge. Rodgers is big on man management and there is no way he'd put Sturridge back in that team IF we keep that form going. Are we winning?

No way that its a formality that Sturridges greater ability will see him back in the team ahead of Sterling! We'll agree to disagree on that one.
He'll win his place back absolutely no doubt about it.
Yes its a winning team but it was before he got injured too and the balance was fine then too bar midfield and that wasn't down to Studge or Sterling,it was Stevie and Lucas not great as a pair.
He won't walk back, that much I agree with, but he won't be kicking his heels very long,of that I'm sure.
We'll go back to 4-2-2-2 not long after he's fit.
