Players will always play down individual records, etc, but you can see how Liverpool (and in particular, Suarez) were keen for his goal-scoring streak to continue.

Still, if it's used as an excuse to get him to drop out of the England squad, so be it.

I'd say so. Same every time. Not necessarily a bad thing. He lives to score goals and came off a pitch not having scored for the first time in ages. Must've felt weird, no wonder he was pissed off.

I hope he has got a "niggle" though and we pull him out of the England squad.
