So when Danny Boy is back should he be played as a lone striker and as part of a pair?

Assuming we sign a striker in January (fingers crossed) how do you think Rodgers will play him when he has two (also fingers crossed) good strikers available?

My personal preference would be the 4-4-2 diamond formation that was so much fun to watch last season

Sturridge offers the option of either which will be useful of course this depends on his ability to stay fit which based on this season so far is unlikely.

We're going to have to spend big in the summer on a striker, I'm talking upwards of 40-50 million to bag someone of real quality because Sturridge simply isn't reliable enough.

Guaranteed he will breakdown again at some point. I think he will breakdown within a matter of weeks after coming back at the end of this month.

He hasn't played for half the season. To expect him to come into the team and turn the season around is a bit wishful thinking. He's going to need 4-6 weeks to get his sharpness back minimum, then get to know his new team mates will also take time.
