He has been a shadow of the player he was last season alright but him coming back from injury and then being played in an isolated role up top ..isn't doing anyone any favours. He doesn't have the legs for it at the moment & we aren't getting players up to support him enough.

Sterling at RWB clearly is not a good fit, kill two birds with one stone and play him up top with Sturridge. Benefits Sturridge to have a striking partner & gets Sterling closer to goal and away from the work horse role.

Disappointed only by his work rate since he came back from injury. He is a brilliant player but really needs to start putting a shift in.

I'm of the opinion he's still slightly injured and he knows, just we've gambled and brought him back in to try and get more goals.

I don't think we'd contemplate playing him if he was even slightly injured, IMO he's managing himself. Poor ******* has been injured so much that he's probably afraid to really let the legs go.

He'll be back to full tilt, but not sure that will be any time soon.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
            Mine angry and defrauded young?

I think it's more the system than his perceived lack of work rate. He's so isolated that any pressing he's doing is going to be ineffective and mostly unnoticeable.

                Perceived?
Nothing perceived about it, he doesn't work hard, isn't working hard and is no more isolated than when Sterling or Balotelli plays up there.

Personally I don't have huge issues with it, he scores goals and goals win you games so 8 times out of 10 he starts.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

what about when we played City with Sterling up top , he gave their defence a right working over ,

On Sunday he made it easy for their defence , thought he was very static

Yep seems to be out for 3-4 weeks with a slight muscle tear.

                      ****s sake.

Agreed. It's gone too far now. I feel sorry for him, it's not his fault, but he can't be relied upon.

If this is right, it sort of answers the demented people who were saying that he was looking lazy. Absolute ****ing tripe - it was clear as day that he was worried about his fitness. Shame, but we're not in a different situation with him with or without this injury - seems to me that we weren't going to see Daniel Sturridge back as normal before next season

Hodgson has said he's got a slight tear. LFC said nothing yet but there are "fears" he's out for a month.
