Sturridge is world class when fit ... he was the top striker in Europe at one stage scoring all kinds of goals including worldies ... he's the complete striker for me, great attitude to boot ... I really hope we have sorted his medical issues out, he could be one of the best footballers to wear the shirt in my books given a couple of years of injury free playAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. He's brilliant but let's not go throwing around world class.Originally posted by False9 View PostSturridge is world class when fit ... he was the top striker in Europe at one stage scoring all kinds of goals including worldies ... he's the complete striker for me, great attitude to boot ... Yep, he's incredible, still ridiculously underrated. Though granted he's not much use if we cant get him on the pitch!Originally posted by False9 View PostSturridge is world class when fit ... he was the top striker in Europe at one stage scoring all kinds of goals including worldies ... he's the complete striker for me, great attitude to boot ... What exactly is world class? Getting to 50 goals quicker than any other world class Liverpool striker? Goal to game ratios? Being first choice striker for your national team? (If you're at one of the supposed big football nations). Adaptability? Ability to play in a variety of positions with ease? Skill? Technique? Pace?
He has all of those. The only thing he doesn't have is a good fitness record. If that wasn't the case, everyone would be rating him ahead of Torres.

There is talk of him being back for the Manu away game on the 12th of September, but I guess it will probably be after the break.. Give him some game time during the 3 games leading up to the derby..Originally posted by Saveloy View PostIs there any more news on when he's likely to be back?

Good stuff. That's a well cut jib you've got there MosRay
Hasn't the American op supposedly got to the root of the problem? Am I stupid to be optimistic that he can get back to his best?
Some of those goals above were downright good.

I suppose the criteria differs for each position but clearly for a striker it is goals. Obviously skill, technique etc are factors but a striker is rated on how many goals he scores. Sturridge had 1 brilliant season where he got 22 league goals, any other season he's only goal 11 league goals.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostWhat exactly is world class? I think when fit he's a brilliant player & was a great coup by LFC, but is isn't world class...not yet anyways. Injuries have plagued him & he really does have the ability to become a world class striker. IMO he's just not there yet. Can't wait to have him fully fit back in the side though
