A sports scientist on twitter who's also an lfc fan said that sturridges initial injury problems relating to his thigh were consistently misdiagnosed by our medical team. So some of that down time could have been avoided.
If you were Sturridge and you knew something was wrong with you but your medical guys couldn't get to the bottom of it, you would probably start to suffer with confidence and have trust issues too.
I have no doubt that some players will play through knocks whilst others need to be 100% but Daniel Sturridge isn't completely to blame for this.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

It's different with muscle injuries though, if you rely on speed and turn of foot. You'd have to feel near 100% to be playing with anything near complete freedom.Originally posted by el matador View PostA sports scientist on twitter who's also an lfc fan said that sturridges initial injury problems relating to his thigh were consistently misdiagnosed by our medical team. As much as I agree with everything you say, I'm just a little disappointed how many supposed Pratchett fans have been whooshed by my post.Originally posted by Myo View Postyerp...i certainly don't disagree with you there, i think juve was 2 steps higher up for the move for his age/experience... would have suited us
here's a thought, get a somewhat fit sturro (look i like him and all, he's ace when fit and firing - but honestly think he will do well in a slower paced/tactical league) and do a trade in jan (Dybla will suit us to a tee)? Sturridge will probably need to switch learning Spanish to Italian for now - till he gets his dream move to Valencia/Sevilla/ATM (
) in a couple years time... win win for everyone...
One tit for another.

What the hell can the club do with Sturridge? If he is fit he is invaluable but if he isn't then what's the point? Would anyone take a punt on him after the last year? The only thing that I can think of that would make any sense (and yet it makes no sense some will say!) is to loan him in January and buy a proper fit goal scorer. If he shows his fitness is sustained then bring him back, if not then sell him for whatever can be got.

Depends if there's any clauses or stipulations in his contract re:InjuriesOriginally posted by redmike65 View PostWhat the hell can the club do with Sturridge? Just more of if the club took into account his previous string of injuries and added certain clauses...maybe something like the club can sell him or release him from his contract/pay him a reduced wage etc if he doesn't meet 75% of gamesOriginally posted by redmike65 View PostHow do you mean? A contract that states "my client cannot be sold while injured"?
