When fit he gives his full effort, and its not exactly his fault his body is fragile. You'd think he would be as frustrated as anyone he is constantly getting knocked back.

I am also fairly sure that after a major injury its normal for a player to pick up something after a return as the body readjusts to the rigors of high intensity sport.

Edit: Probably easier to moan about him stealing a living though isnt it?

Spot on Alex. Long term injuries are very often followed by tweaks and niggles, probably from holding themselves in a different way to guard the original issue. He's a ****ing brilliant player, let's just hope he disappoints all the doubters and comes back as strong as he was with Suarez.

im not 'turning on him' as i think he is great, but my priority will always be whats the best course of action [imho] for the club.

no player should be bubble wrapped or given too many cuddles just to get 5-10 games a season out of them.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

No one is saying we should stick with him if all we will ever get is 10 games a season etc. what people are saying is see how he fairs once he's back up and running.

Put simply, LFC couldn't sign a better striker than an inform Sturridge. So with that in mind, I think we should see if the latest surgery put that main issue to bed.

As for selling him, if he's not over his injury concerns we'd get buttons and be paying him off anyway. So I think it's in everyone's best interests that he is finally sorted.
              Forwards.......

I see both arguments. Personally I think we spent too many seasons doing this with Agger and I see us going the same way with Sturridge.

Instead of going all out for a replacement we keep half assing it in the hope he'll be back to partner who we buy.

I'd give him until the end of the season, and if he's not had a run of games together replace. But I really do hope he stays, he seems like a top bloke as well as a great player.

He's got everything going for him other than fitness.

I think he needs a good pre-season and then see him fit and ready for next season.

I have turned on him, I think hes a top bloke potentially world class and a great player to have in your match day squad ... but his injury record now is beyond the pale ... who know maybe it will work out of the best and ultimately we have 3 top top strikers at the club ...I cannot remember us having 3 top strikers at the club for some time now

I get the impression he's the sort of player who'd injure himself from having a mildly hot curry...

That 400 days in the sick bay since 2013 is crazy, especially as that's a total of 67 games he's been unavailable for in that time - that's nearly 2 full Premier League seasons!

You just have to take what you get and build a team assuming he'll be unavailable. That's far far preferable to not having him at all.

We can't continue as we are, we have to replace him. We are so badly lacking a regular goalscorer, it's costing us. Excellent when on the pitch no denying that though.

In a perfect world I'd agree with you but he's probably our biggest earner, I don't think we can afford to tie up that amount of resource in a player so injury prone.

It is a terrible shame as he's a tremendous player when fit, he's too much of a luxury for us though.

Absolutely feel gutted for the lad, imagine how he must feel, getting set back after set back. I am sure this is a very challenging time for him mentally and I just wish him well.
