All this talk of letting Sturridge go is nuts.

He should be given the chance to get himself fully; fit, confident, and integrated into Klopps side - remember how much training he's missed too. Important coaching.

He's never going to charge around for 90 mins, that's not his game. But he will occupy defenders, he will get into space, he will turn defenders, he will make space for himself, he will get into goal scoring situations, he will make something out of nothing, he will win penalties, and he will score goals. A lot of them if given the service.

There isn't much better out there so why in earth would we look elsewhere (if he stays fit).

        Agreed.

And to those saying everyone has their price, if we want to be successful we should never sell a player - regardless of price - unless we have a replacement on board who is at least as good. £50m is a good price, but convince me we will be a better team first.

It's only a good price if the team can be improved with it. Time and again in recent years we've sold our best players for good money but not replaced them. That's the real issue. If he was always fit I don't think anyone would contemplate selling him for any money. He isn't though and that's the problem. I wouldn't sell.

Which is the minimum requirement to play for Klopp.

Everyone saying keep him misses the point, no-one id disputing his finishing or his goals per game ratio but Klopp doesn't set his sides up around 1 player.

Any Klopp side has to relentlessly press from the front for 90 minutes, Sturridge isn't going to do that, fully fit or not.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

maybe he has taken the piss a bit not wanting to push himself and return early.

you could sympathise with his caution, but when the medical staff and manager have had enough of his being a pussy and call him out for it then you have to wonder if his time is up.
we all know what he 'could' bring to the team, but in my opinion he looks like he is cruising and waiting for an exit option.

he hasnt like being fingered by klopp [maybe missing zaf] and is semi-sulking.
its a great shame, but first and foremost i support LFC and players come and go.
got to admit i'd be sulking about that.
              Really?

*If* £45m was on the table then I would be considering it.

He clearly has bags of talent and his strike rate is superb, but how often do we get to see his ability? 81 appearances for Liverpool and 75 games missed in the three years he has been here. And it's not just his hamstring or his knee, it's a whole host of issues. Can we afford to have our go-to striker available just over 50% of the time?

If he was willing to be a squad player - which I very much doubt he would be - then sure, his ability means we should never consider selling him. But if he's adamant he wants to be the main man then a £45m fee is too hard to turn down. Especially when we are in the initial stages of building a Klopp team.

This is a very important transfer window and the more funds available to assist with the transformation is only going to help. But yes, getting the right player as his replacement is extremely important.

Agreed. All this panic about Sturridge leaving baffles me, but fear sums this club up recently. Grow some, let Klopp mould this side his own way. Who thought Suarez or Torres would turn out the way they did for us?

As you've said, 75 games missed, and of those played, a good majority will be those where he's come back and won't be at full fitness or match sharp either.

I'd sell him for £50m no questions, and let Benteke go for £20m, we could be handing Klopp around £70m to reignite our attacking options, and I have a lot of faith that he'd make us a far, far more potent side with that spent.

Sturridge is a special talent but so is Klopp and I fully trust him to make the right decision for the club.I think he's got plenty to spend and will do it far less wastefully than every manager since Rafa.
                      Can't wait for this summer.

                        Agree with all that.

Will a club really offer that much money for a player with his injury record though. It sounds nuts

The other issue with Sturridge that others have mentioned is that he doesn't suit playing as a lone striker which is Kloppy's preferred formation.

Right now I'd be surprised if he was still with us at the start of next season talented player though he is.

£70m combined would be a real boost to Klopp's war chest, doesn't matter how the money's split. Firmino, Origi and Ings are more important to us moving forward so losing both wouldn't phase me in the slightest.

In fact, it's going to be £80m once Balotelli is factored in too. Get rid of the dead wood

Add 10 for Allen, 25 for Henderson, 10 for Moreno, 10 for Lovren, 10 for Milner, 15 for Lallana and 5 for Sktrel
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Money is **** all use if we don't spend it right as we've seen. That's why I'd worry about selling him. Yes we have Klopp now but we still don't have any evidence his presence will be enough to stop us wasting vast some of cash on average players. This summer is huge in setting the tone going forward.
